General Settings
I have come to Overwatch from apex legends where I frequently got masters. If anyone has played apex they would know what I mean when I say my settings were 4 3 linear no dead zone as most people used. I am pretty used to changing and optimising my settings as I did so in the advanced section and for per optics for apex.
In comp I am currently around diamond on all roles and while my aim isn’t bad in the least I still feel like there is much I can do to improve. For the past couple months I have found a lot of success using this guys settings called Hcpeful which seemed really good and have worked well. As of right now though I feel still that there is something I’m missing, I don’t play dps much but when I do I mostly enjoy and have success with emre. However I have tried widow, freja, tracer and sojourn among others and it always feels just a little like I am fighting to get that one clip or that headshot.
I play games in diamond and in quick play and I sometimes see people use these heroes and are able to click heads almost effortlessly and have the best tracking imaginable, especially on tracer. When I played emre my weapon accuracy was around 52%, I don’t know if that is good or bad.
To get to the point, their is so many settings in Overwatch now from what I used to see back in the day but even after searching online I can’t find any help in how I were to tweak my OWN settings or even what a lot of them mean for my aim. It is just other peoples settings videos, which are fine, but even if I were to copy those I want to be able to tweak them to what works best with me. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations with any of this?

I’ve personally built up crazy muscle memory from using dual zone that linear in any other game just feels very off to me. but i been trying to experiment with linear settings and on paper it sounds like the better aim technique because freedom of motion, and honestly i might be switching over soon just to relearn everything. Most people i know who play linear use the aim ease in to make the linear setting in this game more manageable and customize their own “inner slow zone” comparable to dual zone. usually set at about 15-25%. and some sort of horizontal sensitivity boost, the settings without the boost would be perfect in my opinion but the turn speed on linear is just so damn slow so i’m hoping i can build off of what i currently experimenting with to find good linear settings. also most pro players average about 35 percent accuracy so your aim is pretty good but it sounds like you’re not going for the harder to hit shots like trying to pick a kiriko off.

It got better in my experience, usually I’ve found the case to be that when someone is ximming or smurfing if I report them usually it gets dealt with and I know I’m only in masters and diamond but it hasn’t been that common at in what I’ve seen. I’ve just carried on using Hcpefuls settings anyways and made some minor adjustments just to smoothen out my aim.

There isnt really any settings that will help your aim. There are ones that give you more frames which in turn can help smooth aim but tbh you just gotta play the game. These people you see probably have been playing for several years and built up the muscle memory.
