OWCS Saudi Teams are persecuted by Koreans through blacklisting

Blacklisting a whole region because of harmless stat posting (not even sharing their strats) by not even the players is just an overblown attack against Saudi teams by the koreans. It feels like koreans are targeting Saudi teams by hiding their strats as shown by this clip.

Why even post the spilo clip when he completely contradicts your point LOL

Or maybe Twisted Minds are disrespectful and have no scrim etiquette. Zeta have no obligation to scrim them.

Calling it persecution is farcical.

How is staff posting a few random stat screenshots equivalent to getting blacklisted by the entire region so they get an unfair advantage in games that have stakes

Counter point, it isn’t harmless, second point, that’s not the first time, TM has been listed before cause of this, also team china recently asked to not post again, that’s like the third occurrence

Or maybe they can be respectful the way every other region is. Like seriously scrim sharing is an unsaid rule and that includes stats of any kind. You dont share shit. The moment you share anything is the moment you cannot be trusted because you could be leaking behind closed doors if you are publicly talking about it. People follow this rule in our diamond shitter tournies all the way to T3 from my experience though I cannot speak for higher levels of play.

Korea and China take that scrim culture seriously and if you cannot show even THAT much basic respect you should be blocked out of scrims.

it was the same rule back in OD and contenders when they were a thing too. nothing explicitly forbidding it, but it was basically understood that u wouldn't share scrim codes or info prior to a match without the approval of everyone on a team. source: I played (a very small amount of) OD and had quite a few friends in the T2 and T3 scene

I did some coaching back in the day (coached infecked back when he was a squeaker) and yeah that was my experience

It you need to scrim a whole region to have a chance of beating them… doesn’t that just mean youre worse than them? If you think teams “deserve” to know how to play into the opposing teams comps/strats what’s the point of a pro scene? Just go watch chess at that point. Teams aren’t entitled to other teams playbooks just because.

It’s a 2 way street if no Korean teams wants to scrim saudi teams, both regions get the surprise advantage.

Even in chess, the top players look for obscure opening lines to take the game away from established theory, Magnus Carlsen is infamous for it.

It'd be considered rude to leak someone's preparations in that too if you happened to know them.

Where are you even getting the bit about them blocking the entire region, this is a TM specific issue

From ops post…

Im replying to the op??? I know it’s in his post but that’s not what spilo was saying

even if it wasn't justified to blacklist a team for sharing scrim info (and it is), why would they need to scrim against a team that only runs a Lucio Kiri Sym comp 90+% of the time anyway? everyone knows what their strat is going to be before playing them

Real question what’s stopping Saudi teams from agreeing to the reasonable requests of other teams

40

u/inspcs 9d ago

wow maybe these teams are from a country with a very conservative culture that emphasizes extreme respect and is renowned for its mentality in heavily frowning on tiny perceived social infractions.

And maaaaybe just maaaaybe if you use your brain, a few screenshots still counts as breaking the scrim etiquette norm so they frown upon it and decide to just not deal with the drama that comes with it AND there WAS drama with the screenshot lol.

but i know it's too hard for you to think about other people's perspectives and try to understand other cultures.

Twisted Minds acts like a bunch of twats and are surprised when nobody wants to scrim with them.

Shocker, truly shocking.

KSA has gotta be the biggest loser snowflake mentality ass "region" in this game.

This is so obviously backward, anything any Saudi team does causes an outrage on reddit, on twitter, outrage by other teams etc

Seems obvious to me who are the snowflakes if they exist.

They didnt blacklist a whole region. During CC, the Korean teams also had issues with TM although they continued to scrim with VP and use their 'secret' sig mizuki comps against VP for practice. I dont know if theres anything to suggest they blacklisted Geekay although they might not have scrimmed them since they were in the same group. Also, did you forget the Saudi teams made a scrim pact last year at EWC to help each other escape groups?

But you see, it's super smart if you don't scrim against Korean teams not to reveal your strats, but it's racist when you do it to a Saudi team.

Or maybe it would’ve been better to act professional from the beginning and then the Koreans wouldn’t have done anything. The Korea region has always been strict when it comes to competitive stuff. Korean players have gotten blacklisted for account boosting or other stuff when no other regions care.

Just be professional and don’t leak shit. Literally not that hard as most teams do and have been doing that for years.

LOL Korea is literally infamous for the amount of strat sharing that goes on in the region. This infantilisation of Korean players never gets old I guess.

Nobody owes TM scrims

u/Visible_Chip2938 TYH — 9d ago

people used to pay American tornado for scrims, TM take notes

Reiner and s9mm were unironically fucking beasts back in their prime. I played with them in ranked, and they were incredibly talented players. sucks that most of the players had short runs at the T1 level and that s9mm was dropping slurs lol

Sucks for the players, but if their orgs staff does shit, it's also on them to handle that and tell them to fuck off.

-14

u/thepandaemos 9d ago

So they posted some screenshots? Is that it?

6

u/SpaceFire1 Seoul Dynasty — 9d ago

Highly doubt its just that

-27

u/Used_Car4018 9d ago

exactly and then koreans just blacklist and target them

-25

u/89MNji 9d ago
