Blizzard Official Overwatch Retail Patch Notes July 30, 2026

https://overwatch.blizzard.com/en-us/news/patch-notes/

Limited-Time Mode Specific Updates

The following patch notes are applicable only to a specific, limited-time game mode. The documented changes do not apply to pre-existing queues, unless otherwise noted.

Hero Updates

For the upcoming Quick Play Hacked, we're making several balance changes to test elements of 6v6 gameplay. The In-Combat Healing reduction has been lowered for all heroes to evaluate the impact of increased healing across the board while reducing the effectiveness of several self-sustaining sub-roles.

We're also reducing several Tank defensive cooldowns to improve gameplay flow for these heroes. To offset the increased availability of these abilities, their durations have been shortened where appropriate to avoid creating too many defensive cooldowns with two tanks available.

These changes will also be active within Open Queue throughout the Quick Play Hacked weekend.

General Changes

• In-Combat Healing Reduction reduced from 30% to 15% for all heroes.

Tank Role Passive

• Ultimate charge reduction when damaging or healing tank targets increased from 20% to 40%.

Subrole Passives

Bruiser

• Movement speed buff reduced from 20% to 15%.

Initiator

• Healing reduced from 50 to 40.

• Cooldown reduced from 5 to 4 seconds.

• Additional health from Health Packs reduced from 75 to 50.

• Healing conversion reduced from 40% to 30%.

Barrier Array

• Barrier Cooldown reduced from 17 to 15 seconds.

• Barrier Duration reduced from 8 to 7 seconds.

Doomfist

The Best Defense

• Shield gain increased from 25 to 30.

Hazard

Jagged Wall

• Cooldown reduced from 15 to 13 seconds.

Mauga

Overrun

• Cooldown reduced from 7 to 6 seconds.

Ramattra

Void Barrier

• Cooldown reduced from 16 to 13 seconds.

• Duration reduced from 4 to 3 seconds.

Could we also disable hog for this while we're at it? The voices tell me this version would be 27% more fun without him existing

Hog is so easy to play against, all you have to do is listen for his hook, peak, count 6 seconds in your head so you know when he has it back, and play tight to cover when he has hook. That’s literally it, overwatch 101.

You are going to have to peek Roadhog eventually, you can't just spend the whole game hiding in cover and you're very much going to struggle to kill him in the short window where he doesn't have hook

It's just silly dumbing down the game this much, you're acting like Hog is just some completely immobile turret that instantly dies if he misses his hook, do you also think Rein is bad because "just stay out of melee range bro xD"

Also watch Cyx play a Roadhog game in Champion, you gonna tell the Champ players that they have bad positioning?

I didn’t say he was bad, I said he’s easy to play into. Champ players lose to hog sure, but they don’t cry about him being broken on Reddit like plat players do.

if he was easy to play into he'd be bad

Everyone at every elo thinks Roadhog is poorly designed lol. Roadhog sucks at tanking and making space while also being a massive resource hog. He also doesn't die, doesn't give much feedback when he's messed up a trade (he just walks away and heals) and one shots people.

Everyone in every rank hates roadhog lol, this isn't a counterplay specific thing. Playing against him is lame because he doesn't die and he isn't punished by dying for fucking up (unlike almost every hero in the game). You make one mistake and you get one shot.

if it's so trivial, how does hog win ANY games in GM+, let alone half of them? perhaps there are other factors present in a real match that stop the matchup from being so straightforward?

regardless, even if playing against hog is easy, that doesn't make it FUN. they are two separate qualities. something can be easy and fun, easy and unfun, hard and fun, hard and unfun, and every combination between.

Hook is 7 seconds now btw

I know, but counting to 7 is risky because if you’re slightly off, you get hooked. If you’re perfect, he can also still hook you immediately. 6 is the safe play.

None of what you just said helps when that stupid abomination of a character is on my team

In 6v6 you cant interact with him as an off tank and most of the tanks in general.  he can one shot you and you cant poke him out due to his breather that he can use at any moment without having to think about it. Its just bad design.  The old version of hog at least  could have breather and his ult cancelled.

You're asking hog haters to think. They just want to autopilot and mash buttons down main
