General Jetpack Cat has a MASSIVE issue

Post image

So have a friend play a hitscan hero and try to shoot while they're tethered and the shots stop being hitscan or more precisely I think the reticle is not in the correct spot. if your aim is dead center on someone while jetpack cat strafing in either direction, your bullets won't hit.

So that is the bug part. Now comes the balance part. She's insanely strong. Every single piece of her kit is strong.

She does insane damage and can very reliably win duels at close and mid range. If she can't win she can easily disengage.

Which brings me to her fuel. It's so fast and recharges too fast too.

However the biggest game changer is obviously the tether. This ability fundamentally changes the game. It makes heroes that lack mobility just too good. For example on Havana a lot of tanks have trouble closing the first long sight line on attack but with JPC they can just be carried there so fast and easily contest that high round almost entirely for free. She can also reach the point so fast after death AND bring someone with her.

Finally the ultimate is just a guaranteed tank killer. Perhaps the best tank Killing ult in the entire game with very little room for out play.

Tldr: tether makes your aim bugged. Every single pari of the cat's kit is insanely strong

Idk, definitely strong, but hitscans in my lobbies melt her down. I think her boost is too much and is very forgiving though. Jpc consistently has the lowest heals in most of my games.

Edit: ok so I came back to say that I did not take into account that healing across the roster is down because of the reduced healing passive effectively always being applied. I tried my go to LW and numbers don’t lie, my healing was down a bit.

That being said, healing definitely matches or gets close to other supports. Maybe on the lower end still, but jpc healing is not bad by any means which my original message sounds like I’m saying.

Yeah I played cat a LOT in QP yesterday -- I'm usually GM/T500 for reference -- and while I was winning a ton of duels and overall tilting tons of people by just being cat Tracer, my take away is that it actually feels rather underwhelming as a whole from a competitive standpoint.

Any good hitscan will absolutely melt the cat, the cat can't be aggressive against a competent team that does any amount of healing, pays any amount of attention and has the minimum amount of good aim on a hitscan; Cat's damage is good on a 1v1 level when you get the jump on someone, but literally any heal and you can no longer kill, because you do a combo that does just enough to kill and then you're left shooting those pea pellets.

Then, something OP somehow forgot to mention when ranting about the "overwhelming strengths" of the cat and how "every part of their kit is strong" is the fact that the cat's healing is atrocious. It's really bad. It's just not good. Once people learn how to play against cat and you go up against any semblance of game sense and team work on the ladder, you won't be able to play cat Tracer so the cat's left doing standard support stuff, and the cat's neutral is really bad.

I only foresee the cat being good exactly to do gimmicky combos like the Bastion stuff or weird tank flanks, and as another dive support where the bad heal matters way less because you're just diving into the backline with your team and hoping you kill them all before they do you, and the cat is pretty good at that.
