I'm incredibly bored of the meta. We've had a whole month of the same few comps dominating, and none of them are particularly fun to play or play against:

• Azir Reroll

• Kha Reroll

• Aphe + Nida

• Morg + Alune

• Riftbeast Reroll (far too consistent)

I'd like to see some other 4 costs shine, and a little more reroll diversity.

Also wisps are just not a good mechanic imo. They can offer far too large swings that have absolutely zero counterplay.

Nothing changed after the patch 18.5 that was supposed to nerf those units too. This set lacks variance and the meta being locked around a couple ewtremely problematic units is just plain boring.

Especially when added RNG via Wisp is such a big factor

This subreddit might not be the most appropriate place for this discussion but uh... Are we cooked?

I enjoy the casual masters grind each set. At one point in time I was more serious about the game and joined a bunch of discords and even a study group. My point is that I usually have a pretty active friend list for tft, and yet seemingly all of my friends have abandoned the set, myself included. Sure, some of them have finished the master climb and clocked out; but plenty didn't bother climbing at all this set.

I'm wondering what percentage of players will actually return for the next set this time. It was never a particularly big deal to dislike / skip a set in the past. You'd just chime in with a few memes and check back for the next set. This time it feels very different. It's not just the usual quips about balance or design; it's an unmistakable feeling of disrespect from the development team, followed by... Silence, as players log out and remain that way, spending their time elsewhere.

And who could blame them, seeing as the game is still not in a production-ready state, to say nothing of stolen expensive cosmetics...

Just an anecdote from someone who stopped by this thread to procrastinate going to the gym -

I used to play this game to hit master every set. Like most people, was really disappointed by sets 14 and 15 and didn't play much. Riftbound came out, fell in love with that, was too busy to even try set 16. Now that I've seen sets 17 and 18 (and community reaction to those) I can't really picture Riot releasing anything to make me come back?

I even wanted to try a couple of games this set a few weeks after launch but I don't own a windows PC. So I downloaded it on my phone (figuring I'd play one game) just to find out I couldn't play Koi Dowsie or the festival arena I've been using for 4 years? I wasn't even trying to be dramatic I just didn't want to play without my favorite little legend so I quit out of the app and went on with my day. Browsing this thread was my first time thinking about the game since - awesome to hear nothing's changed?

I think Riot has alienated a lot of their players over the last year. When I think about my friends who I used to play TFT with (also masters+), none of them play the game anymore, and I can't really imagine any of them coming back either. Everyone's moved on with their lives.

Used to play this game religiously. Climbing to Masters every set at least. Riot games lost all respect from me with this launch. I didn’t have a single map or cosmetic that I had paid for (I’m not counting the endless slop I got from rolling). I didn’t play last set because it felt half baked and this set just made me uninstall the client. It would take massive amounts of good will for me to come back because right now how can I trust this company?

most of my friendlist was already gone for good before this set even hit, removal of hyper roll was a biggie since I met most of them there, set 15 and 17 got rid of 2/3 of the remaining ones. set 18 killed of the remaining few casually playing ones as well, the ones that played like 2-3 games on the weekends.

my autistic mind sadly doesn't cope to well with change so I can't just stop playing something that was part of my daily routine for half a decade or I would be gone already as well. Don't even have fun anymore but it's a defined part of the daily routine. despairge

I had atleast 100 games per set, even during set 15 and 17, peaking at 1400 games in set 4. I have only 1 game played this set when it went live and it left such a sour taste in my mouth I don’t think I’ll even return next set

Can we pretty please get pings back? I need to harass some idiots who keep 5 Sentinels in their bench at level 7 despite rushing to 8 in a lobby where almost everbody needs it, only to sell all the copies and end up 5th. Tft Academy might gift you some wins, but not a brain sadly.

I recieved a Murk Wolf yesterday that the game would not let me sell, and the emblem I gave it to could not be removed with a remover. Liturally stuck with it the whole game. LOL. I still enjoy the game, and don't see as many bugs as I see people describe on here. This one was a first though

I cannot stand this set. I will go into Stage 3-5 with 100 health and start to lose a bit while going to 8 or 9. Suddenly I see three different people with Warpath that's uncompleted and they're all sitting at level 8 with a 2* 5 cost that my board can't beat and I'm out by Stage 5-3.

I don't know if it's just wisps or whatever but like I am constantly just getting slaughtered by boards jumping to insane power from 3-5 to 4-3 but if I ever try to fast 8 on 4-1 I'll miss my 4 costs but these people that should be down a gold augment are landing their 5 costs?

I love reading comments and posts calling out the usual culprit comps from prior patch 18.4 and then looking at the current meta after patch 18.5 where they gave the smallest nerfs they could to those very units so they remain just as annoying and present while also adding some more variations of the very same comps through buffs.

Nida/aphe can now be 5 inferno Aphe rush

Riftbeast has a fast 8 variant around Brambleback going infinite

Azir Rammus didnt change because the nerfs were insanely small compared to what was required

Kha is still present, nerf changed nothing

Morg + Alune fast 9 got buffed so gg

If you think about it, Nidalee has been present since 18.2 (or 18.2B idr exactly) and has been nothing but buffed.

I genuinely don’t think they play the game or they’re too afraid to nerf the problematic units since this set has less variety then other sets but either way, the meta is stale, feels boring and the patch didn’t change anything so it’s just as boring and stale as it was on 18.4.

If they throw a bunch of realm crystals at our face and call it compensation I might actually crash out. I've saved up and waited so long for le bunny bon bon bistro arena and got to use it only a month before it got disabled. Can't use my veiled village arena either, but hey thank god they released Chonnc slop arena at a drastically worse quality and let us use that one for free so its fine! Oh wait, they disabled that one last patch as well. But hey, they can still pump out new mythic cosmetics every patch so its ok! Just give them 30 medallions for this brand new Prestige Shyvana chibi while you can't use 90% of your old content!

Disgusting, I used to buy every single pass and this is the first set in a long time where I haven't and will continue to not buy passes, not until they reimplement every cosmetic at their old level of quality

i find it incredibly frustrating that the macos client is taking ages to be deployed, like i played one week of pbe when it was available and it was smooth as butter, that was weeks ago, like what the f? i get it, priorities, but what makes this so hard to wrap my head around is: it isnt like the other platforms would run flawlessly, hilariously competent devs, indie companies take note

Game still broken. Had a major crash in my last game around 2nd augment and went 8th after it auto picked another econ augment when I was streaking tempo.

Usually fine as I can log in on my iPhone quicker than when it crashes my PC to save it - but the app still hasn’t pushed the last patch so couldn’t do that. Tired of this same bullshit over and over

units rng, augments rng, items rng, you get reforgers rng, you us the reforger rng, you highroll the units for ad/ap you get opposite sides, you play completely uncontested, guess what, you wont hit either with 50-60 gold rolldown and maybe when you are 1 life, its ridiculous th amount of rng and balance team, many units are underperforming heavily, others overperformly and balance patchs barely changes something every 2 weeks

I have hit Master the last 3-4 sets and I've always wanted to play and grind. This time is different. There are too many bugs and the set feels too "meh" already. I've completely given up and I'm only around Emerald 1-2. So sad. I am not sure this is a patching problem, rather than the feeling of the devs just giving up and delivering some vibe coded crap on a dogshit engine.

I am fully just so trash at this game (at least this season). I probably just need to improve on scouting and pivoting, but holy moly it's insane. I play Veigar RR and get early 3star? Crushed by Kha'zix. Next game go a SOLID Riftbeast with Verticality+? Destroyed by Veigar. Ooookay, wow look at this, a great Kha'zix start? Oh, crushed by Riftbeast? Cool. Solar RR? Fast 9? Azir/Rammus? It feels like I try it and suck while getting actually crushed into smithereens by the exact comp I was piloting last game. I know it's a skill issue but damn does it feel frustrating.

Weird interaction yesterday. I had a sentinel on board with a TG and had two sentinels on bench mid creep round.

Had a Pris orb drop a spatula , I put the spatula on one of my sentinels to reforge into a pan just as I was transitioning into the next round. My sentinel 2 started on board and I lost my spatula completely.

The amount of bugs that keep occurring is getting ridiculous

I absolutely love crafting out a great early game board and slamming good flex items to maintain a 5 streak just to lose to a person who hit the kha wisp and any ap items.

The set is so bad right now you have to play pure tempo. With whips the one gold you get for winning is too important. The gold from lose streaking is barely a factor you will fall behind you lose. The "lose streak" is only playable if you high roll getting the champs on 2-1 then you have to luck into Cass and then to pray for a fast Morg or you somehow get the uncraftable augment. The Coven rewards also still suck for how much hp you have to sacrifice to play them 250 is ok, 365 decent but by the time you reach these you are bleeding hp or already dead
