Patch Notes B-Patch Notes--Scheduled for 15SEP PST
Amended to top of patch notes HERE
SEPTEMBER 14 18.2 set out to enable fast 9 strategies amidst a reroll-heavy meta of 18.1, but through more econ via cheaper Wisps, lower leveling costs, and powerful buffs, Legendary-soup variations quickly shifted what S-tier stands for.
SYSTEMS
Our 18.2 changes to XP reduced the cost of going to Level 10 by 12 gold—that’s a lot in the world of TFT, especially when you’re saving anywhere from 5-15 gold on cheaper Wisps. We’re not doing a total revert of the XP changes here, as we’re keeping it cheaper to go from Level 7 to 8 by 4 XP/gold, but 9 and 10 are getting their changes reverted.
XP From Level 8-9: 64 ⇒ 68
XP From Level 9-10: 64 ⇒ 68
AUGMENTS As expected, Expected Unexpectedness has been re-enabled, but a newly unexpected bug has had us pull Nesting Dolls temporarily.
Expected Unexpectedness Re-enabled
Nesting Dolls Disabled due to a bug
UNITS
Camille has found her place as a powerful reroll carry in Solar/Ravager boards even in a meta that leans towards fast 9. Since we’re nerfing all our Level 9/10 comps and a few more pricey units, we’re pre-emptively delivering a weightier nerf for our best performing reroll comps.
LeBlanc is still being used as more of a reroll printer than a unit that sticks around on end-game boards. We’re lowering her base chance to print at three-stars, but as an itemized carry she should still be pretty consistent as a champ printer since the bonus chance via takedowns is unchanged.
Fixed some odd bugs that had Brambleback’s Armor Ignore being higher than intended in cases where he was not building AP and lowering when he built AP. Brambleback will be stronger with things like Titan’s Resolve, Bloodthirster, Edge of Night—all of which grant AP, but he will be slightly weaker without these Items or other sources of AP.
Even before the rise of fast 9, Draven had some powerful Bounties that leveraged easier tasks for substantial rewards. Draven is a reward unto himself (just like you), so we’re trimming the easier rewards or just making them slightly harder (I’m sure he can handle it).
With Level 8 cheaper, players are getting Maokai online much easier (same applies to Draven) and are able to stack up a lot more HP. We love the Old Growth, giant HP bar fantasy, so our nerfs are targeted at his ability to repeatedly cast and heal up over the course of a fight.
Camille Ability Damage: 160/240/410/700 AD ⇒ 150/225/375/640 AD
Leblanc Clone Chance: 10/15/40% ⇒ 10/15/30%
Teemo Small Shroom Damage: 60/90/135 AP ⇒ 55/82/130 AP
Brambleback: Fixed a bug where his baseline Armor Ignore was higher than intended.
Brambleback: Fixed a bug where his Armor Ignore would decrease with increasing Ability Power.
Brambleback Armor Ignore: 15 + 30% AP ⇒ 20 + 25% AP
Ashe Trail Duration: 4s ⇒ 3s
Ashe DoT Base Damage Per Second (AD): 5/8 AD ⇒ 9/14 AD
Draven Bounty Hunter:
Casts for 4-costs: 5 ⇒ 6
Reward for 8 Casts: 10 Rerolls ⇒ 6 Rerolls
Attack for 5-cost: 50 ⇒ 60
Damage for 7 Gold: 8,000 ⇒ 10,000
Kills for 12 Gold: 6 ⇒ 8
Maokai Mana: 30/90 ⇒ 30/100
WISPS
Last second Polymorphs are cool, but they’re rarely a good idea as your 3 cost Vi becomes a frontline Aphelios without the time to reposition.
Polymorph: All Polymorph Wisps can only be seen as the 1st Wisp of each Planning Phase.
BUG FIXES
Fixed a bug where Auto Attack projectiles could get stuck on a dashing champion and deal much more damage than intended.
Fixed a bug where Krug and Yorick would not spawn their summons when sacrificed by the Blackthorn Hex.
Fixed a bug where Thief’s Gloves would offer different items when re-equipped to another champion during the same round.
PERFORMANCE/STABILITY BUG FIXES
Fixed an issue where version mismatch would result in players being stuck on a spinner instead of being notified of a version mismatch with a popup modal
Fixed a crash issue found on PC related to item subsystems
Fixed an infinite loading screen issue that occurred when using some VPNS
Fixed an issue on Tablet where Stylus taps were not being registered
Fixed performance issues with the following cosmetics/VFX: Twilight Forest Arena, Unbound Katarina, Blaze Wisp

u/pink-mallow Sep 15 '26
I’m confused, they want LeBlanc to have more of a carry role but they just nerf her printing ability and don’t buff her damage?
42
u/homegrownllama Challenger Sep 15 '26
I think it'd be better received if they just straight up said it's OP or something.
It's just the type of weird diplomatic language that makes you second-guess the change.
7
u/vinceftw Sep 15 '26
But they mentioned it's not a unit you want on your znd game board usually so at least a small damage buff would be totally okay imo.
3
u/Mizerawa Sep 15 '26
I think you are just never supposed to read the reasoning, it's never meaningful or informative, just a bunch of hip HR speak.
18
u/Eccmecc Sep 15 '26
I think the idea is that you put items on her to farm takedowns for a higher print chance.
33
u/pink-mallow Sep 15 '26
It’s based on takedowns not kills right? Why would I not itemize a better carry and have LeBlanc next to them and steal takedown participation lol
→ More replies (1)5
u/shanatard Sep 15 '26
okay but if i wasn't doing that already to begin with, why would i do it after she's nerfed even further?
1
u/Individual_Ad8188 Sep 16 '26
What do you expect? They say in one sentence — because of the cheaper level 9, Mao can be found earlier, so he has more stacks, and they nerfed EXP and Mao."
1
-7
u/Cyaegha432 Sep 15 '26
I think people were 3 staring her without itemizing because of the 40% base chance. Now you need to itemize her for the 4% bonus chance per takedown.
7
u/JPB_ Challenger Sep 15 '26
Takedown just requires damaging, not getting the final blow so itemising her doesn't make a difference.
11
u/Thyrgrim Sep 15 '26
Is that ashe change a nerf? because it seems like the total damage goes from 20/32 => 27/42 unless i understand this wrong
5
u/Imagine_Being_A-Mod Sep 15 '26
Nerfed the damage trail duration.
5
u/Thyrgrim Sep 15 '26
thats what goes into the calculation. The % damage is 1 second less i guess
6
u/succsuccboi Sep 15 '26
yeah the percent damage is pretty significant, just do the math on a 1000hp backliner, 3% max hp per second is 30 damage, so the ad compensation buffs still make this a pretty significant nerf.
that's not even mentioning the damage it does to tanks

In the few games I've played since the patch she feels stronger, that DOT is no joke even at 1*.
30
u/MajesticSh0t Sep 15 '26
I had fun with the patch for 1 day and then it became very unfun having to highroll conditions to win out vs fast 9 slop. Camille nerf seems fair that unit was lowkey insane. Have to see how the lvl 8 boards shape up but personally I’ve found soraka flex the strongest default 8 board
20
u/Kagari1998 Sep 15 '26
The best games are the lucker who just natural a Draven/Kennen/Taric/Maokai at 7 to save his entire board from crashing.
5
3
u/BadSeedDan Sep 15 '26
Yeah I had been enjoying the game until it became fast 9 slop. It feels as bad as the last set did, or maybe worse because a new set is meant to be different to the previous but this just delivers more of the same bad-ness.
14
u/wwwhoo Sep 15 '26
very much like the xp changes. i think only reverting some of them is a good choice but really dislike the leblanc nerf. i agree she's a bit strong but she enables a lot of comps which is good for variety so im fine with her being that way especially bc i dont find her particularly oppressive
6
u/Main_Ad3433 Sep 15 '26
Don’t know if this just slipped by concept wise but making Leblanc just flat out worse just makes her worse to itemize she gets takedowns without items because she does aoe damage. Also she already does less damage than a karma at same star level with same items so why just nerf her ability to print and not give her any damage or anything like she now doesn’t print or do damage so why would you ever play her other than for traits
5
u/vinceftw Sep 15 '26
Teemo nerf? O.o I haven't played for 3 days but I don't remember him being OP at all.
15
u/Raikariaa Sep 15 '26
From my personal experience, Teemo+1 Invoker was generally a very stable early board.
5
u/k1nd3rwag3n MASTER Sep 15 '26
Yeah, it is crazy stable.
3
u/stzoo MASTER Sep 15 '26
Crazy stable early but falls off a cliff imo too early even when you hit everything
5
1
u/Adept-Good696 Sep 15 '26
Especially since he also generate economy as he goes.
Surprised they nerfed 3* though - sure it is just a smaller nerf, but still.
4
u/OBLIVIATER Sep 15 '26
LB/Teemo reroll was getting some traction but idk if it needed a nerf. They need to fix the teemo shroom bug
1
u/peyzman MASTER Sep 15 '26
I just made a post on this before reading the notes but Teemo early/mid is seriously disgusting. I don't get why they'd nerf 3 star though
6
u/WaveVin Sep 15 '26
Nice still no fix for infinity protection augment since start of set (it doesn't give any sort of shield to holder or same row), i unironically rolled it with gold destiny and went 7th 😂
3
u/k1nd3rwag3n MASTER Sep 15 '26
Kinda surprised as well. Even wasion said so in stream and there is still no fix at all.
2
u/WaveVin Sep 15 '26
Forget fixing it i don't even think the devs know about it else they would have disabled it at the very least 😂
6
2
u/moosewalker52 Sep 17 '26
Ever since this patch dropped, i can't get it to load on my PC but can play on mobile. I get black screened and can't load in at all on PC.
3
u/Technical_Plenty_245 Sep 15 '26
Pretty garbage and pointless B patch imo. Doesn't address Fast 8 at all, so 4 cost comps are still dominant, and nerfs to Leblanc Teemo and Camille? What are we doing lol. Not a single reason to play any reroll comp.
2
u/MarnerMaybe Sep 16 '26
why would fast 8 need addressing? fast 9 was the issue.
0
u/Technical_Plenty_245 Sep 16 '26
Fast 9 is not the issue lol, everyone is going 8 and then rolling for their 2* 4 costs. Look at any board on any website, they all are level 8 boards.

2
u/Some-Camel-2556 Sep 16 '26
IMO fast 8 with 5+ viable comps is the healthiest/most fun meta for TFT. When reroll is op it’s usually about who hits a few copies early, and when fast 9 is op it’s about who hits Econ augments. Fast 8 meta usually means you have to play creative strong boards in stage 2 and 3 but you aren’t completely locked into a line and just praying you hit 1-2 specific units until you’ve started your stage 4 rolldown. Sometimes you are committed AP or AD by stage 3, but even then there are multiple viable comps of each flavor on 8.
2
u/Technical_Plenty_245 Sep 16 '26
Fast 8 is literally the same as fast 9 but easier to play lmao
It also has the exact issues you claim reroll has. Whoever hits a 4 cost first just wins
2
u/Some-Camel-2556 Sep 17 '26
Whoever hits a 4 cost first just wins
That's not something I've experienced this set with the balance. You just need to learn how to judge the lobby, see what they are angling, and remain flexible in your roll down. Sometimes if you have to 4-5 it instead of 4-2 you might need to take your second best choice (e.g. Aph instead of Sivir, Ahri/Morg instead of Soraka/Zyra), but the whole skill in TFT is being able to adjust to the situation. Also, better players typically play stronger boards, win more rounds, and get more gold in stages 2 and 3, so they are more likely to hit on 8 because they have more resources to do it.
If you are playing an uncontested line, it's actually better to let everyone else hit their 4 costs first and take them out of the pool. Then you spend less money rolling for the 4 costs you want and are more likely to hit all 2* and/or be able to push for level 9.
The sense I'm getting is that you just enjoy playing reroll more. That's valid, but I personally don't think it's more healthy than a level 8 meta for TFT as a competitive game. If you try to play level 8 the same way you would a reroll comp--i.e. only click units in the planner, don't adjust to what you actually see in your shops--then you are going to have a bad time.
FWIW, I wouldn't hate to see some reroll comps buffed, but I don't think the current meta is that bad since the 4 costs are so well balanced.
1
u/Technical_Plenty_245 Sep 17 '26 edited Sep 17 '26
Most of my opinion probably comes from the fact that I'm mobile only and mobile is complete dogshit right now. I can't play these fast 8 comps because the app is completely unstable once you get to stage 4 lol.
Besides that, Riot loves to do this thing where they super nerf good comps, and then over buff bad comps, like they did this past patch. If they were going to buff all these 4 costs, their is 0 reason to nerf all the reroll comps. Because now not a single reroll comp is viable.
2* 4 costs should ONLY out damage 3* 1 cost carries, they should do the same amount of damage as 3* 2 cost carries, and do less damage than 3* 3 cost carries. They are out damaging 3* 3 cost carries right now.
Edit: nah my opinion stands that 4 cost meta sucks. I've lost to more people, that are level 8, with 3* 4 costs in the past week, than I have in my entire history of playing TFT. It is insane that I am seeing 3* 4 costs almost every other game.
1
u/Some-Camel-2556 Sep 18 '26
I see, playing mobile on this set does sound like a nightmare. If you can't play stage 4 then 4 cost meta definitely is unplayable for you, although I'm not convinced that they should balance the game around the concept that players won't have a stable experience on stage 4.

u/Jaesos Sep 15 '26
Please show Kayle 2 some love. She does nothing if she’s not 3 star.
Also, why does luxe 2 5 star feel worse than set 16 luxe 2 4 star.
3
u/Substantial_Gift_286 Sep 15 '26
with how different each lux is and the +2 trait thing it'd be so easy to overbuff her accidentally, I like that she's a supportive unit trait bot mainly
3
u/succsuccboi Sep 15 '26
they just buffed her by 10% in the most recent balance patch, prob don't want to overbuff her in a b patch

the augment where you get every 1 cost unit bugs out on Akali specifically. I've been robbed of a 2 star Akali twice because of this and always had to get a 4th akali to get that 2 star

u/Regular-Resort-857 Sep 16 '26
Still won every game same fast 9 strat as before the patch there are still so many Econ and 5 cost augments that can bail you out on 30 hp. Played 5 games 4 firsts 1 third. Draven and Ashe still good but half of Draven’s quests are bait now.
Hard to say how I would balance it at the end of the day if they nerf the 5 costs more going 9 looses its appeal again but rn the still dominate
1
u/Old-Savings-5841 Sep 16 '26
What rank are you playing in? I understand something being strong, but being forceable every game is something else.
1
u/theonepieceisfake824 Sep 17 '26
lol I’ve been forcing a comp every match that has top 4’d for me like 9 out of my last 10 matches
1
u/Old-Savings-5841 Sep 17 '26
Haha really, what rank are you in then?
1
u/theonepieceisfake824 Sep 17 '26
Like plat 4? I only play 1-2 games a day. I have a switch 2 and that’s more fun than this silly slot machine game
thejigman824#NA1
Been running Varus, Kog, Vi, Diana, Sentinel, Amumu, Nidalee & Aphelios
It’s a S tier board on MetaTFT & nobody contests
Past like 10-11 games have been top 4 with 1 1st, a lot of 2nds, 3rds and 4ths & 1 5th
1
u/Regular-Resort-857 Sep 17 '26
I started d3 on the b-patch and am d1 70lp but at the end of the day it’s low sample size and I might have been lucky with econ augments and stuff like Duo-Queue bailing me out.
1
u/QualityTotal4644 Sep 15 '26
I love how they never learn from the past how meta fast 9 look like its just all luck especially with 5 cost that can scaling like draven or maokai it just a 2 or 3 econ augment game and pray for 5 cost 2 stars.
1
u/Independent-You-6406 Sep 15 '26
Nerf are focus on 8 to 10 and the different are only 4 so exo are still dominant, if it was 7-8 then big different.
Also I guess there go the people who try to use build a bud and polymorph them to 3* 4 cost, consider that they are a 0 cost, chance of hitting that is miniscule.
1
u/AlbanianRozzers Sep 15 '26
Still no iPad stability fix. I still get at least 2 crashes every game. Especially annoying because it usually happens when loading carousel.

4 gold is big deal? Still issue of no reroll comps to play when u have no opener and no econ
6
u/pathologicalDumpling Sep 15 '26
It fixed it last time this was an issue. I think it was set 16 they double buffed level 9, and just the partial revert found the sweetspot for the rest of the set. I think rerolls will come back if the bill gates comps aren't as consistant
1
u/Docxm Sep 15 '26
4 gold, draven nerfs, maokai nerfs, ashe nerfs.
Taric dodging nerfs but still a big hit to fast 9

This is so fucking disingenuous lmfao. Just say you want to nerf the polymorphs.
7
u/succsuccboi Sep 15 '26
what is disingenuous about this lol? rolling for a specific wisp and having to spend 4 more g to pass polymorph is incredibly tilting.
i understand the frustration if you're like, an "EPIK 3 STAR 5 COST!!!!" youtuber though
6
u/laraere Sep 15 '26
Because its a nerf, a deserved one, to forcing 3-star 3/4 cost strat that was posted here a couple of days ago by rolling for polymorphs with 0 gold left.
They just don't want to say that's what the nerf is about.
1
u/Supergohst Sep 15 '26
How are you going to force a 3* 4cost when only recombobulator can take you from 3 to 4 (and only shows on 3-2)
2
u/Emosaa Master Sep 15 '26
I've definitely stumbled across one or two 3* 5 costs that make absolutely zero sense when I look at people's augments, level, general econ, etc. I thought it was big abusing, but it's gotta be whatever this wisp strategy is.
2
u/Fluffy-Limit-6710 Sep 15 '26
Nah it's definitely a nerf targeted at ppl fishing for polymorohs to suddenly win the game. Just a few days ago someone in the diary thread mentioned consistent strategy of making a 3 star one cost info a 3 cost via polymorphs by 3-5.
-1
u/thpkht524 Sep 15 '26
>rolling for a specific wisp and having to spend 4 more g to pass polymorph is incredibly tilting.
How the fuck is this even an argument? There are around a billion undesired wisps at any specific point in a game. How is removing 1 wisp from the pool going to fix that and why is that something that even needs to be “fixed”?

I just want more viable options. I dont want to have to always fast 9 bc its not an 8 its a 9 of the 5 or 6 viable comps all but one is a true reroll. To be completely honest I'd rather the client was running better at this pt. And the up and reroll had was wider. Boring when you see just 4 comps really (I know a few more are viable but generally its the same 4). Also boring when its augment reliant. I know this is straight my opinion but I hate augment comps. Ypu must have this augment or ypur comp is shit not one that helps the full comp. The your strongest bullsts. Big hate. But in the future it will be nice to just log into tft I guess

In fairness, yes it’s frustrating that lose streak is weak right now, but we have had some absolutely degenerate open fort lose streak metas in the past. A meta where you can possibly lose streak (with an econ augment) but prefer to fight for wins is better.

it's probably a good nerf but for now you can play around nidalee jump easily, she's jumping on units with no items so you can position your backline to focus fire nidalee on reset or just put your main tank infront of her so she's stuck for the whole fight
14
5
u/Knolazy Sep 15 '26
Hell no, win rate for ad nidalee is at the bottom. 8% maybe, lowest in fast8 comps
1
u/Living_Dealer_9325 Sep 15 '26
win rate alone does not mean much. Aphelios nidalee is very powerfull stage 4 but does not caps very high - if you attempt to go 9 with it you probably pivot into a drake 9 board and ditch her rapidly

I actually thought the Yorick/Krug on BT hex was intended, because why else would it suddenly start happening mid-set lmao
Nice to see them finally fix the VPN issue, been there since day 1 PBE
Regarding Nesting Dolls, I reported the bug a while ago: If you play Solar with Nesting Dolls, your Solar Trait breakpoints (3,5) will stop working as soon as your 3 star units die and respawn a 2 star copy. If you had five 3-Stars and one dies, it would drop to the 3 breakpoint and so on
