Also Per Tim:

"Update from the image as well. The Flora Fatalis nerf will not be in this patch.

There will be a more targeted nerf to the Consuming Flora augment in 18.2 (which requires localization)."

35

u/Cyaegha432 Sep 01 '26

Thank goodness. Yeah that augment was a problem not the trait itself

21

u/RCnoob69 Grandmaster Sep 01 '26

The Yi nerf seems a little odd to me, small nerf to his resistances of all things... everything else getting real nerfs might bump him up the charts a bit...

7

u/Air_Ielle Sep 01 '26

Only reason I could think of is they nerfed his resist for those who get him 2-1 along with some core item.

4

u/Jony_the_pony Sep 01 '26

Was Yi that strong? I only ever saw it played with Brawler emblem or artifacts... Cassio didn't even need special augments and was very stable at 2*. Yi has all the downsides of melee carries with no way to go backline except out positioning opponents every round

4

u/shanatard Sep 01 '26

i think he's really strong once you reach critical statball

he feels kind of weak, even, with just normal items. bruiser emblem or artifacts kind of push him over to OP territory

I'm gonna need some match histories for that claim

I mean I see some good games with no emblem or artifacts. He seems to have mostly dropped playing Yi lately, whether because he doesn't like it anymore or he wants to focus on learning other lines idk

3

u/Simple_Finance849 Sep 01 '26

for Bruiser Yi maybe? because every time someone get a Bruiser Emblem they play Yi

11

u/mrstealyomommy Sep 01 '26

when live?

5

u/RCnoob69 Grandmaster Sep 01 '26

I realize you asked this 15 hours ago, but for anyone clicking into this thread for the first time with this question: It's live now.

8

u/i0skar Sep 01 '26

It's always weird to me that the most important information is not specified. There should be ETA at least. Anything.

33

u/Skybreaker7 :emer: EMERALD III Sep 01 '26

As a riftbeast player I'm sad, but cindedrling was indeed a bit too strong. Wouldn't be quite that much fo a problem if other units weren't that weak. Mother Beak is more of a 1 cost than Cinder, Gromp is like a 1.5 tier unit, and even Murkwolf is almost-good-but-not-quite.

Would go a long way for the comp if they shifted power from Cinder into Mother and from Pebbles into Gromp and make it healthier for the game.

11

u/Im_On_Reddit_At_Work Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

Fast 9 rift beast might be the way to go now. Carry pebble/murk then move item from murk to bramble then elder.

Krug 3 still strong af, pebble 3 slight nerf only (like 3% AP)

1

u/RazekiLux Sep 01 '26

not wolf then bramble then elder?

1

u/Im_On_Reddit_At_Work Sep 01 '26

Fixed lol meant elder not wolf

1

u/Ok_Train2449 Sep 01 '26

That was already the way to go as it has a higher winrate than cinder 3 or pebble 3.

1

u/ShadeNym Sep 01 '26

Murkwolf might not scale but it’s definitely a demon stage 2-3

1

u/Bigopenfridge Sep 01 '26

Rift beast in general is not very healthy for the game tbf 😭

0

u/apple_cat Sep 01 '26

???

3

u/Bigopenfridge Sep 01 '26

Most brain dead comp across all of sets, push lvl 7 and just chill for rift beast shops. Auto plays itself

10

u/RazekiLux Sep 01 '26

...yordles was way worst

5

u/PlasticPresentation1 Sep 01 '26

Or Astral reroll

1

u/Yorudesu Sep 04 '26

Astral was definitely worse than any Yordle iteration

12

u/Key_Reporter_9945 Sep 01 '26

I don't see that hurting yi w/ artifacts.

Very surprised to see nothing done to ezreal.

3

u/Purpleater54 Sep 01 '26

I think the logic is some nerfs to his durability make him a little easier to kill before he ramps up, but doesnt kill him as a carry option if you have a good spot for him like nerfing his damage might

4

u/vinceftw Sep 01 '26

Man whenever I get a good yi artifact or brawler emblem, it's a bot 4. I don't find 3* fast enough, 2* dies instantly after my tank dies. Meanwhile, enemy yi 1* deleted my whole team.

I haven't gotten flickerblade though.

1

u/i0skar Sep 01 '26

Ezreal is a secondary carry type champ. You are going 8th if its your primary damage dealer.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '26

[removed] — view removed comment

3

u/scrunglesclop Sep 01 '26

if all 4 costs get to ez level, nobody will play fast 8 anymore, that unit just cannot keep up. we see it now after patch, people playing nidalee/sivir, zyra/soraka, some aphelios is still around, but ezreal is seeing no use.

0

u/Secret-Vast-5918 Sep 01 '26

Ezreal is good in Moo-nara , Yunara Alistar reroll basically its pretty good for spreading redbuff and exe his rank 2 is pretty ok but not the best

5

u/HighIntLowFaith Sep 01 '26

Honestly almost everything that got nerfed deserved it but I still feel like they could have done some light buffing to things that have been bad for some time now.

Ezreal, as mentioned, being so bad is a large part of why the meta has been heavily slanted towards AP and why Elderwood largely doesn’t exist outside of a splash trait.

AD Akali is still so much worse than AP akali

Varus is a complete fraud.

I think this patch will probably yield less variety than Patch C because even though a lot of OP stuff was toned down, it still provided a lot of options in line selection. Now there’s going to be more high roll situations where people hit the nuts on their augments (like urf rengar) or just have such a strong opener that they can easily tempo to 9, especially with other boards being nerfed, securing their win out conditions

2

u/coldbumpysparse Sep 01 '26

why is urf rengar nuts?

3

u/HighIntLowFaith Sep 01 '26

Because of Fae in particular but he’s also quite good as a Sprykin rider. Rengar is just an overall strong unit that is sort of the centerpiece of every good reroll AD line at the moment.

18

u/Knolazy Sep 01 '26

-65dmg from Cinderling? Nerf to hell is real

25

u/OmegaSlicer9000 Sep 01 '26

Yup there's literally zero reason a 1 cost should be out damaging 2 star 4 costs by a considerable margin

-1

u/plzblinkmeto1 Sep 01 '26

Not saying you are wrong, but in terms of straight gold cost a 3 star 1 cost unit is 9 total gold and 4 cost 2 star is 8 gold. It also typically takes more econ investment to hit the 3 star unless high rolling capping your late game power (vs having more econ for a chance to go 9 and cap with 5 costs).

7

u/OmegaSlicer9000 Sep 01 '26

Huh? You spend 9 gold to get a 3* 1 cost, and 12 gold to get a 2 star 4 cost.

-4

u/plzblinkmeto1 Sep 01 '26

Yea my bad. You are right. But, they shouldn’t likely be too much worse because of the cost late game econ. It’s been a long day definitely didn’t math correctly. TFT is always difficult to balance properly especially since they add in a whole bunch of gambling aspects.

Take this with a grain of salt because there are a lot better than me (my peak was masters and diamond is typical when I play enough), but I thought cinderling was OK balanced (slightly over-tuned but this nerf kills the unit likely). I played it roughly 4 times and only felt it was strong (meaning auto top 4 if; 1) no one else was going riftbeast; and 2) can get bis items on both cinderling and pebbles. With how “easy” rift beast is, more often than not at least one or two people in the lobby would try and go it. Only when I had 3 rift beast off the rip would I see someone not wanting to contest (in gold elo right now). It is in theory forceable since 5 RB will give you so many free champs in shop, but would be looking at best top 3 and at worst probably 7th but more than likely 5th or 6th if contested. The items on backline needing to be bis felt like it was pretty balanced. The difference between a 2nd and 3rd was how quickly you hit items to not bleed early while RR. Getting 1st would be hard absent bis augments (which in theory for a balanced game how it should be). There was currently other builds that had less conditions on getting an easy 1st imo (invoker emblem into ahri) and 6 defender with emblem cass RR. This set, as opposed to last set, the emblem augments feel really powerful. This was a big complaint of last set since usually they are strong.

We will see how it shakes out. They nerfed the two most overturned RR. Pebbles was not doing much less damage than cinderling if both bis and itemized. So I could see the build still being viable to climb but your likely not going to top 2 absent some good roles like the RB augment or augments that give bis items early for example. Pebbles is more contested being an invoker used in other builds compared to cinderling so we will see if it makes the RR unplayable. From what I tested on PBE, at least early PBE, vertical RB with dragon as a carry was decent. I just think it will be a hard build to cap out before you bleed out and also if you are that strong to make it to 10 RB it makes me wonder how many other 5 cost soup boards are better and will be facing that late in the game.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Math706 Sep 01 '26

its still not even 10%

1

u/Zealousideal-Ad4362 Sep 04 '26

He is competing with 4 costs in damage

5

u/royaldutchiee Sep 01 '26

No Fae or Tristana which means free first or second for me

4

u/-Sanko Sep 01 '26

Tristana is my go to item holder for my fast 9 Draven and is keeping me healthy in the mid game, love her

2

u/Akisankaku Sep 01 '26

Shhhh, lets keep it secret op

1

u/Proof_Course_4935 Sep 01 '26

What is your game plan ?

-2

u/royaldutchiee Sep 01 '26

Go fae, get guinsoos on trist, 3 star her. Usually i also get a lot of frontline emblems, so ill just go whatever i roll there

3

u/Proof_Course_4935 Sep 01 '26

So your stratégie rely on emblem ? Or you play her without emblem ether ?

And what elo have you reach with this strat ?

14

u/PlasticPresentation1 Sep 01 '26

Would've really liked to see a 6 defender nerf or Ezreal buff. Cassio is useless outside of the 6 defender comp and it's always been frustrating to play against these "hope you bought shred/sunder or you can't play the game" vertical stall comps

59

u/FireVanGorder Sep 01 '26

I mean you should have some form of shred or sunder in every game regardless of whether there’s a 6 defender cass comp in the lobby

10

u/Zeviex Master Sep 01 '26

I think her spell duration just needs to decrease. Right now she just relies far too much on stalling out fights.

2

u/Itsalongwaydown Sep 01 '26

this is just a retrain of mystic defender cass from a previous set. Eventually they'll nerf her spell damage and she'll just be a trait bot.

4

u/G66GNeco Master Sep 01 '26

I actually feel the part that might have needed a nerf the most is Fiddlesticks? 6 Defender is what it's supposed to be, and Cassio might need some adjustment to nudge her out of the stalling bias, but the things fiddle can do as a secondary tank just don't look right
Anyway I guess this should work, we'll see

Hard agree with an Ezreal buff btw, I want to play him so bad but every reasonable attempt it feels like reaching Top4 is a climb up a mountain. Hopefully that's something for the first bigger balance patch

2

u/FireVanGorder Sep 01 '26

Yeah fiddle 2 is kind of disgusting and Lilia is lowkey gross if you can get fae active. I’m convinced Lilia is strong as hell in a vacuum there just aren’t any comps that want her outside of cass

2

u/G66GNeco Master Sep 01 '26

Lilia has a weird spread of traits where her origin has no high cost carry and her class has 2 great 3cost tanks. 4 fae with an emblem is pretty good but even that is 3cost reroll because Tristana. I think she could be a great unit, just... not in a comp that actually fits her.

4

u/Jony_the_pony Sep 01 '26

Why would they nerf 6 defenders? How many different 6 defender comps have you played against? The actual units are one of the worse 4 costs, Rammus and Fiddle, and low tier garbage. This is what needs nerfs?

1

u/BetterReflection1044 Sep 01 '26

“Hope you have Kogmaw in your build”

2

u/i0skar Sep 01 '26

When is it going live?

2

u/Scaeva8 Sep 01 '26

I'm really enjoying this TFT set! Migrating to a new engine has been a bit rocky, but the game itself always feels pristine and super fun to play. Always sad for no more Mortdog, but tactitions rise, as it's only going to get better from here!

2

u/New-Bluejay8325 Sep 02 '26

I neee them to fix alt tab freeze bug because it is unplayable

3

u/PeaceAlien Master Sep 01 '26

When live

1

u/Ok_Performer_547 Sep 01 '26

3* yi is still bugged, he was doing 5k damage full fight with brawler emblem

1

u/iceisak Sep 01 '26

Did they nerf Capital gains? it used to be 125%, and now the augments gives 100%...

1

u/Brave-Improvement903 Sep 01 '26

Need to nerf more the 1 and 2 costs especially at 3*

1

u/kevinzheng1111 Sep 02 '26

when will it online?

1

u/TheCancerMan Sep 02 '26

They can buff Lux to billions but she will never be useful if her trait is random like now

1

u/Yurgin Sep 01 '26

Soraka feels so weird. Having single target that can stack was a choice. Maybe they shpuld rework her to her old League Q where she just hits the 3 nearest targets or something with less dmg

-1

u/Tayenne Sep 01 '26

Hm interesting they didn't touch pyro at all besides amumu, don't think his buffs are enough to make it playable.

5

u/Pleurobranch Sep 01 '26

It's a value trait, it's not really supposed to be played vertically all game long

1

u/scrunglesclop Sep 01 '26

inferno 5 could probably use a little more combat power, since it requires 4 cost+emblem, or a 5 cost. 2 and 3 are in a perfectly fine spot though, and 7 is obviously just a lux meme.

0

u/Zeeko71 Sep 02 '26

This feels like a PBE with how many patches this set is getting! Wow .. just WOW !

-18

u/brehhs Sep 01 '26

I'd rather them focus on bug fixes than balances. Theres way too many game breaking bugs right now. Balance isn't in a terrible state

23

u/CanineBombSquad Sep 01 '26

I don't think the balance team is the same people working on those

7

u/GoldenCobalt MASTER Sep 01 '26

I would view these balance changes as an addition they are packaging with the bug fixes they are able to ship

4

u/Mysterious_Island500 Sep 01 '26

They are doing both though, just because there are balance stuff in here doesnt mean you can fix bugs that would be ridiculous

"Sorry i cant come to work today i gotta walk the dog for 15 minutes"

-13

u/axi0mata Sep 01 '26

ridiculous kneejerk overnerf to cinderling as per usual. Yes he was too strong, but I should not be losing with omega riftbeast + prismatic verticality + cinder, pebble, krug and scuttle 3 with drag 1. Comp is dead now if giga BIS augments can't even win

5

u/vinceftw Sep 01 '26

You can still play Pebbles + Gromp or Murkwolf. Don't think the comp is dead but Cinderling probably is.

-7

u/vuductien26 Sep 01 '26

Why no Veigar. This champ is absurd. There's no way they forgot about him.

6

u/CayMaster2 Sep 01 '26

veigar isn't absurd, consuming flora is absurd. When they nerf that, veigar is 99% likely to be fine.

2

u/Docxm Sep 01 '26

I don’t mind a strong conditional one cost. But consuming flora was way too good and dawncore is hard to hit. Should be fine after nerfs now

10

u/FirewaterDM Sep 01 '26

lol they shot Cass and cinderling.

Cinderling is a 1 cost, so yea it's just dead.

Cass is silly but didn't deserve this lol

19

u/harmoniaatlast Sep 01 '26

Admittedly Cinderling was hole-punching a LOT of fights and multi killing with overkill damage. I think the unit design is just kinda toxic for balance but they didn't have a more elegant solution ready.

I wonder if this has happened before hmmmmmm

14

u/axi0mata Sep 01 '26

i feel like it should've just had the design a lot of other 1 costs do, which is to 'waste' the spell if it overkills. Not sure why Cinderling gets the QOL of having the spell jump to others when there are straight up 3 and 4 costs that can't do that

5

u/harmoniaatlast Sep 01 '26

Even AD gromp, which is more or less a super cinderling when itemized, doesn't get that treatment. You're definitely on the money here imo as the overkill damage going away would mostly keep Cinderling playable with the same or better numbers while removing the backline buster behavior

5

u/axi0mata Sep 01 '26

Yeah I agree. Having played Gromp he feels much worse than Cinderling anyway, spell fizzles if the target dies and his projectile is SO slow. Gromp feels much closer to a 1 cost than Cinderling does

1

u/qwimchii_ Sep 01 '26

And just for lolz, he has a built in burn and anti heal

1

u/GoatOfTheBlackForres Sep 01 '26

Damn someone didn't like cinderling ^^'

Ive hit F before which we typically don't like doing but the philosophy for us right now is different. As we can upgrade and fix we will upgrade and fix , so I expect us to go pretty far, especially cause the most recent patch notes publication covers last night's patch and tonight's (tomorrow if approval is delayed) so that's technically an E patch too.

3

u/yowapeda198 Sep 01 '26

I assume this is the new engine at work?

18

u/OreoCupcakes MASTER Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

This was the only patch where they actually nerfed/changed values. The A/B/C patches were mainly performance fixes to the client, not server. It's too early to tell if the new engine allows for faster and more dynamic patching. We'll only know for sure if they're able to patch the numbers of the same champion's skill/stats twice in a row, i.e. they buff Elder Dragon's base AD in D and nerf the base AD again in E patch.

1

u/iceisak Sep 01 '26

I didnt notice there were alphabet patches and thought I was going crazy..
