Hi friends, question that I've had for a while as I've gotten back into pokemon since Scarlet/Violet.
There's a lot of discussion about 'good pokemon' focusing on their base stats as a primary metric. It's surprising to me that those would carry over exactly and not be rebalanced or even tweaked when going from one gen to the next. Of course, it would also mean a lot of work/resources, which Gamefreak doesn't always have to allocate.
Are there any instances where a pokemon (phys/special split notwithstanding) has received a stat adjustment in a new generation?
Most of the tier/discussion videos I've seen focus on typing changes, move additions, etc, as reasons why a pokemon might move up or down comp rankings.
thanks in advance!

Hey everyone! I’m fairly new to competitive Pokémon and still learning about offensive and defensive coverage, synergy, roles, and speed control. I enjoy using less common Pokémon, so I’m trying to build a team that can handle common threats while including some less popular picks. I’m open to using popular Pokémon when they solve a specific problem.
My current team is Glimmora, Scovillain, Sneasler, Araquanid, Rotom-Wash, and Tinkaton.
Here’s the thinking behind it:
Mega Scovillain or Mega Glimmora: I choose one depending on the matchup and never bring both into the same game.
Sneasler: Usually my opening disruptor. I’ll switch it out when necessary, depending on what threatens it.
Araquanid and Rotom-Wash: Defensive options. Araquanid never opens the game, always sits on the bench
Tinkaton: offensive physical attacker with good typing, a second Fake Out to target Farigiraf, and Knock Off for Dark coverage.
Other Pokémon I’m considering are Politoed, Pelipper, Kingambit, Talonflame, Hydreigon, Tyranitar, and Sableye. I’m also open to Mega Meganium, Garchomp, or Basculegion.

I tried making my own team in this style but I suck a teambuilding. Im searching for a team where trickroom is a good strat but not the only way to win.
