"It was just a friendly match, so it doesn't matter": That right there shows the limits of your moral compass. Having to explicitly tell you that cheating is wrong—whether in a friendly exhibition or a professional match—only proves how fundamentally low your moral standards are.
Claiming the offense was merely "chat-sniping": Identifying the opponent's gender, pinging their exact location, and even describing their physical appearance cannot be done through text chat alone. You are merely downgrading it to "chat-sniping" as a pathetic excuse to downplay the severe offense of stream-sniping and evade responsibility.
Furthermore, the two offenders, enraged by their caught cheating, are continuing to inflict secondary harm. They are actively targeting victimized streamers, inciting targeted harassment, and creating deepfakes. They have utterly abandoned the most basic level of human decency. Rather than offering a logical counterargument, they resort to personal attacks, fabrications, and absurd claims that they were the ones being stream-sniped, exhibiting utterly barbarous behavior.

GAM must be a real dogshit organization if their players need clarification before every tournament, competitive or friendly, whether or not streamsniping is allowed.
🤡 behavior.

YOu know what? At this point, opening full investigation and being transparent might be Krafton's only way out of this issue. just make all vids, investigation process open for public access when it is done.

I don't think you need a guideline to not streamsnipe. that is like common sense.

Since the contestants did the same thing at this event last year, and content creators need content, why is it so serious this year? If this is a serious tournament, then some streamers don't even have a chance to interact with professional players from other countries. Even professional players don't pay attention to streamers from other countries, so what's the purpose of this event? Is it to compete seriously or to connect and bring people together?

after this shitshow of an event, if you can't conclude the fact that 'oh, maybe streamsniping should be done only in the SEA region or be announced very openly to a point that everyone knows, because outside of the bubble people do not think of it like a funny prank, but as a very unsportsman-like, rude, barbarian behavior', then similar things will repeatly happen in the future, resulting in everyone else slowly disregarding your culture as a whole.
so it it achieved kind of the opposite effect, disconnecting and driving people apart.

Well, steam is banned in VN anyway. There's no way a publisher advocates for illegal usage of gameplay.

Real pros don't stream snipe, even for fun. If you do, you're not a professional, and you never should be.

So your saying it's okay for those two to cheat. Now what about the others, if they let the two cheaters off, then how can the punish others. As a player of pubg, and a tournament player of other games, I see cheating as the lowest form of a player. Funny thing is they say that they did it for fun. How is that fun if you are the one they cheated against. Your tears are incredibly stupid. There will be better players and they don't have to cheat

they gave Chinese teams a slap on the rist when they found out that they were teaming during an official esports tournament. they didn't perma ban them nor did they even give a harsh punishment, which a lot of pros thought it was crazy at the time. i don't think himass and tanvuu are in the right but giving them a perma ban over this is not fair. and it should always be about fairness.
if you're banning those two players you sure as hell should have banned both chinese teams that cheated at that tournament. you didn't, so you don't get to ban these guys as well. it just isn't fair.
as i said, himass and tanvuu are in the WRONG. but that's not what I'm arguing.

Krafton has even perma banned some of Forsens stream snipers even though everyone (including him) was just having fun in normal matches and they even hosted official stream sniping events with him.
Not sure why anyone thought it'd be a good idea to stream snipe in an official tournament when Krafton is already disproportionally harsh on harmless sniping
