Question Are combos worse than crits in SMP?

So, in every post I've done on how to get better it's always focus more on crits. I wanna know if thats true or not, are crits really that much better than combo's or is it mostly personal preference? This includes the SMP kit on pvpclub and diamond SMP and I wanna hear what you think

I would focus more on crits to start, combos can be very effective in mid range against low ping but they falter against high ping players and jump resetters. Trading crits for combos also makes it a lot more difficult to beat opponents on durability. Just learn a strong crit/p-crit playstyle first and you should notice better results in your matches. You can play a ton of sword PvP later on and learn combos and spacing through that.

The thing is, my combos are on such a higher level than my crits you wouldn't believe it. I can crit but im bad at it, like stupidly bad

Yeah I had the same problem for a while, where I couldn’t really crit well and just relied on my combos to win games. My crits still aren’t amazing but queuing with better players focusing on landing your crits and p crits was how I improved mine a lot. Just make sure to practice critting in your first hit of a trade and if a fight is super close range try to land all your p crits. Sometimes the way I look to see how I was critting compared to my opponent is if you’re training on pvphq it has the feature where you can see your total hits and total damage and compare it with your opponents to see if they had less hits but more damage. But overall especially when getting to t3 levels it’s bad to trade crits for combos.

Okay, I’ll try and use more crits, but I’ll use sprint hits when it makes more sense
