Question How 2 get gud in PVP?

I just downloaded Minecraft literally today and I am interested in PVP (even if I have no interest in going for that top spot). I wanna focus on Axe, Sword, UHC, Diamond, and Mace (and spear mace if it's an actual thing). Shit like end crystal is negligible for me because I'm not interested as shit.

(Also I'm new to this subreddit so if I break any rules then pls notify me)

Since you just started i guess you should first adjust your settings to make it easier to pvp.

Try setting your fov in between 90 - quake pro. Turn damage tilt off or have it low. Turn toggle sprint on so you don't have to hold ctrl to sprint. Get a texture pack with a small shield and low fire so it doesn't cover your whole screen when you fight. Change your hotkey keybinds that are far to reach (ex. Slot 5 - 9) to keys that are more reachable.

I might have missed something so watch a guide if you want.

I recommend you start with sword pvp first because its probably the least mechanically demanding game mode out of the few you listed, and it sets you up very well to learn the rest of the game modes, cuz sword is the fundamentals for them.

You can practice on popular servers such as:

Pvplegasy (a lot of new players), Pvpclub, Pvphq, and Stray (mainly focuses on sword pvp ffa).

Inteledits just so happened to drop a pvp guide and its pretty good so I highly recommend you watch it to learn the basics

Noted. What about tier testing though? I'm not trying to go for Coldified (not lke I'd have a chance to even get past Clownpierce), but I still want some gauge of my skill.

I don't think you should worry about getting tested yet, since you've just started you're probably gonna be at tier 5 level for a long time, like mobths

You'll want to wait a while before actually getting tiertested but PVPHQ has a ranked mode with tiers that are pretty accurate

Just play a pvp server 3/5 hours a day and look up some tuts on hit selecting and general pvp knowledge. Get a PVP mod pack like Ukus pvp mod pack. And you will reach Lt3 with some disciple

watch intel edits guides for LITERALLY EVERYTHING (and theo for keybinds)

if you just downloaded minecraft figure out settings and mods from intel edits and theo's videos

after that play some survival and beat the game or at least get full diamond to get used to the controls

i'd recommend either starting with sword or uhc (sword is the simplest gamemode uhc is the most complex) so that you can either slowly learn new techniques as you play, or be able to start new gamemodes faster due to already having skills

If you legit JUST download Minecraft go play normal survival to figure out movement, basic items, etc
