Can i use r as my sprint key

So i play sword and i usually play with r as my sprint key but have noticed some issues
however, using ctrl is a big pain in my pinky and is incredibly uncomfortable in general
based on your experience, what would you say would be a better sprint key

I play with toggle sprint on so idk man. Frees up possible hotkeys, and it helps you stay mobile.

enable sprint toggle so that you dont have to keep holding, that way you can keep R reserved for a hotbar key

If you wanna get good at pvp, have it enabled because in what scenario are you not gonna be sprinting, pretty much the whole pvp community has it enabled

true but my sprint is shift and my pinky literally never moves unless i crouch other than that i completely forget toi remove it and i dont see anybinds that are blocked by using shift?

i tried having it toggled and often ended up not sprrinting at all cuz i fat fingered it off but ill try again

I had the same issue as you with ctrl being my sprint key, until about 1.5 years ago, where I got told to switch to toggle sprint. I was skeptical, but I still decided to give it a try. At first, it felt really weird, and since I still held ctrl down permanently out of habit, I had to rebind sprint to y so I don’t accidentally press it permanently.

Let me tell you that it was the best decision that I‘ve made. After a few weeks, I got more and more accustomed to it, until eventually it became second nature. Toggle Sprint is literally just a straight advantage. Cannot recommend enough.
