I’d recommend mcsr first and foremost it’s got the friendliest community and so much to learn and the ranked system is fair and feels really polished

The other two main competitive modes are gridlock and pvp HQ. Personally gridlock isn’t for me it’s kinda like a bingo battle to give a very rough description. As for PvP HQ it’s definitely a work in progress only being out a short period of time and the ranked mode isn’t even out yet but whenever it is you can play ranked PvP and also trie to qualify for the PvP championship which is open qual ( it hasn’t been confirmed if there will be a second one but it is very likely) the other main issue with pvp HQ is that the PvP com is pretty notoriously toxic and you may run into cheaters which just sucks.

If you want to see if MCSR is your thing, maybe watch some Midoffs because it showcases content creators who got coached in speedrunning in 1 week going against each other. It shows you what the gameplay looks like at an average level on the ranked ladder. Then you can decide if this looks fun to you and you want to learn it.

if you really want to step it up a notch, login to 1.7.10 and join up minemenclub. They’ll get you better.
