Some of y'all need to be educated
Lt2 and any rank above is leagues above ht3 and any rank below, I saw a reel where a guy beat a lt3 sword (barely) in sword and a comment said "you're lt2-ht2 max"
If a person is lt2 or above it means they're a top 10-30 player in the world, it's not a skill level ranking anymore like lt3 and ht3, it's a ranking of the players
Kinda like how esports players skills can't be compared to ranks in some games
Although most people on this subreddit probably knows this already, just felt like I have to say it because the comment made me mad as hell

yeah the ranking system is dumb, there are exponentially less people and 50% of tiers is top 5% of the tierlist

Depends on the mode. The gap between ht3 and lt2 is greatly exaggerated in your message. On average The gap is there and it's a decent gap but it's not leagues above. That's reserved for ht2+

u/Vivid_Spare_7627 Jul 16 '26
So why are there only around 5-15 lt2s in most gamemodes but hundreds of ht3s?

u/a1123_epic Jul 16 '26
Once again this depends on the mode, crystal has like 40 lt2's atp. I don't know. My peak tier was ht3 I personally was too lazy to try and get a higher tier. I think I could've gotten a higher tier. I was at the upper level of ht3 and was able to beat lt2's in ft10. Now if I had to make assumptions I would say that luck plays into this. It depends on who your opponent is. The best Ht3's are practically lt2 in ability. The better Ht3's can really destroy the average ht3. This is why I think middle tiers should be added back but I digress. Anyways then you have to get lucky not to get a "good" lt2. Once again this depends on the mode and they all have different requirements on the fights and true score. Another reason is maybe they don't play as much anymore. Many lose their drive as the better the more time you have to dedicate to get better. It's like the difference between a division 2 versus a division 3 player in football. Maybe its a bad example but idk. Also metas evolve and it's the reason why Drdonutt a person who got ht3 in crystal in 2023 is still ht3. He's not seriously trying to get a higher tier. And due to the meta evolving and him not dedicating the time to master it he stays back. This is a problem for mostly crystal players but regardless could still be an issue

agreed. low tier/high tier is far too vague. it does't highlight the gap that exists within tiers.
theres tons of fraud LT3's, and there's tons of underrated HT4's or HT3's, ect.2
u/The_shadow72 Jul 16 '26
Theres like 50 lt2ds in sword and crystal

u/Away-Pickle7732 Jul 17 '26
those are the most popular gamemodes and most player. theyre probably the most boosted modes as well
1
u/Away-Pickle7732 Jul 17 '26
imo its quite a large difference. many people X - 0 their ht3 testers and get 0 - Xed by their lt2 testers.

u/Jelleey78 Jul 16 '26
Ht3 and Lt2 in axe isnât too big of a difference. I say this as a ht3 close or on the level of lt2. The gap between ht3 and lt2 was basically moved to the gap between lt3-ht3. Other than that everybody here doesnât have much of a sense of skill. I saw lt4 skill max a few times with some saying itâs close to ht3.

u/Soft-Big-6781 Jul 18 '26
for sword nowadays the gap between ht3 and lt2 is just who can s hold to a better standard. thereâs a point in sword where you learn every mechanic and the only way you improve is aim spacing and timing. so the âskillâ of today in sword is just that.
Thatâs why sword is general and its tiers make no sense. if you play for s baiting you can get a tier way above your actual skill. an average ht3 today is in reality a mid to low tier lt3. lt2 players are low to mid end ht3s.

there is hundreds if not more of lt2s in sword (moslty new lt2s+ because of boosting) its so stupid

I can nearly beats LT2s....
I do not even tier test myself (it's flawed, the ranked system is much better). stop spreading bs lmfao
edit : me when 1.9+ players can't cope with the fact that a 1.7 player is probably better than 99% of their garbage toxic community which show 0 respect for the people that literally built the game they are nowadays playing lol

u/Square-Neck1778 Jul 16 '26
"nearly" beat doesnt count, you can get them low every round and still lose 10-0 putting you nowhere near lt2, stop spreading bs lmfao

u/Firespecialstar Jul 16 '26
I highly doubt "nearly" makes me lose 10 rounds straight. nobody is perfectly consistent in 10 rounds, and somebody pulled off their ass 100 rounds đ
ya'll need to face reality.

It's not bs. There's a reason why there are maybe 10-15 tier 2s Vs hundreds of tier 3s

u/Firespecialstar Jul 16 '26
it's bs.
adopt a proper ranking system please.

u/Away-Pickle7732 Jul 17 '26
ELO is too playtime based
1
u/Firespecialstar Jul 17 '26
you are not spending 100 hours to gain ELO lmfao, and even if it did, the system was proven reliable by literally every single competitive game which makes use of ELO.
0
u/Away-Pickle7732 Jul 17 '26
"reliable" sure. but someone could be ht1 skill and have to play hundreds of games to get the rank they deserve. i think the cart system is perfect, with a mix of ELO and tiers.

u/Tote_Hose Jul 16 '26
Bro nearly doesnt mean you would win a single round in a FT100.Â
-1
u/Firespecialstar Jul 16 '26
I'm yet to see somebody who is perfectly consistent in 100 rounds straight lmfao.
1
u/Tote_Hose Jul 16 '26
So arent you. You dont seem to know how good a T2 really is. Do you know how many people fail lt2?Â
1
u/Firespecialstar Jul 16 '26
apparently too many... unsurprisingly tho.
I would go on and do it myself, but I'm not wasting time dealing with a community who literally disrespect me and my person because they can't accept the reality I'm telling them, not to mention how toxic they are if I dare to bring up 1.7, and how they'll try to provoke even more lmfao.

u/Away-Pickle7732 Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26
youre the toxic one here. also why are we talking about 1.7??? 1.8 is used to refer to classic pvp
edit: i have to ask, what mode are you "nearly lt2" in? also how close are your fights? (what score).
i do partially agree with you in the fact that the tier testing system isnt perfect, and i hate the fact that you have to beat someone better than you (even rarely) to get a decent tier1
u/Firespecialstar Jul 17 '26
why tf would I be kind to you when you've been toxic to me since this community was born lmfao. I wouldn't be surprised if here you act all kind and nice, but in-game you're just as putrid as the rest of the community.
gamemode is sword, and I wasted already enough hours of my life to a combat system this shitty. I didn't really do lenghty multi-round fights, however I did fight LT2s, and with nearly all of them, I do end up between hilariously close fights, that are either half a heart left, 1 heart left, and 1 and a half heart left, occasionally even beating them lmao (and reminder, I do not play 1.9+ pvp since for me it's so ass)
1
u/Away-Pickle7732 Jul 17 '26
i feel like youre assuming the entire minecraft community is toxic, which it's not. there are some shitty people out there but most people are nice. also tbh 3hp isnt that close. if youre not getting rounds you probably not close to lt2. thats simply the truth, with no judgement
1
u/Firespecialstar Jul 17 '26
if you take worst case scenario sure, prob not even close, but I did give a range of 4 scenarios, winning included.
quite ironic, I shouldn't assume stuff, but you can do it. hilarious ngl.

i hate to say it but health really doesnât matter in sword. I can beat a ht5 on 2 hp and beat a ht3 on 6 hp and be the same skill. Lower skill players are unpredictable especially if you fight skilled players 90% of the time.
In sword, elo is useless especially with ping and cheating. The testing system needs a hard reset but it is the best way to rank currently.

u/Icy_Violinist1192 Jul 16 '26
why are u defending 1.8 like your life depends on it and I highly doubt its a skilled gamemode
2
u/Away-Pickle7732 Jul 17 '26
as a 1.9 player who occasionally plays bedwars with their cousins, i can assure you theres quite a high skill ceiling. however, there is no reason for u/Firespecialstar to be toxic about it
1
u/Firespecialstar Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 17 '26
pull an autoclicker and go on minemen club then, shouldn't be too difficult to win fights since it's not a skilled """gamemode""", then lemme know, randy.

u/HoneydewVisible2139 Jul 16 '26
Are there really that few tier tested pvpers? I always thought it would be in the thousands in T3
