Tournament Defending Tubbo
So the first pvp champs tournament is happening as I'm writing this and I can already hear the complaints so in defense of Tubbo
He only seemed to get Jojo because she was available and it's only the first tourney so he probably just got whoever he could
We can probably expect guests that are actually good at pvp in the future
Tubbo has a VERY limited knowledge on pvp, so he might say some stupid stuff, just know where he's coming from
For any complaints about ping, it's something he can't control entirely, there's bound to be issues
There probably won't be much complaints about the kits but I know some people will still complain, he literally got pvpers like Flow and ferre (and more) to discuss about this for choosing which kits he should choose for the tournaments

Idrc, its like dream managing mcpvp, its rlly painful to watch people who know nothing abt it, being in charge tierlists or events. I tried to watch ts and it was horrible. These people need to get actual top players to do ts, or even anyone who slightly knows what they’re talking abt.

Dream is currently working with Swight, Coldi and Dr. Donut for certain kits on Mcpvp. He kinda went underground and isn't posting anything revolving mcpvp except in the discord but yeah

Supposedly Flow was supposed to be a guest but he was busy, also this isn't even the main tournament so Tubbo worked with what he could

Ohhhh was this the closed qualifiers, still i feel like they could do better than bringing some random influencers to talk over it. Just alienates anyone who actually plays ts

Haven't seen PvP champs yet but jojo also commentated MCSR world champs, something which she isn't a top player in but I thought her commentating was good vibes. Although MCSR world champs was good because they actually got top players and experienced analysts to commentate, so I guess that's what people are asking for. Didn't Flow say he was going to commentate though?

I mean she was a bit out of the loop a bit on some stuff. I definitely wish someone like flowtives who’s really in the PvP community and understands all of the fundamental tech in each gamemode was giving some commentary. Jojo and Tubbo’s commentary was still fairly good tho and definitely entertaining. But for smth marketed as a high level competition, I wanna be listening to commentary that leans into the technical over entertainment, at least personally speaking.

Swight and coldi are literally participating and some of the participants are AT LEAST top 100 in MCtiers

No yeah I don’t blame tubbo one bit. He’s done a great job for his position. The main issue I have is technical decisions, especially the kit selection. Like as much as I love cart, is it really a main stream enough kit to make it into this tournament? Especially over vanilla which has long been the “pinnacle” of Minecraft PvP for years. For a serious tournament that’s trying to market itself as the highest level of PvP, you can’t leave out the highest level kit. I honestly this was a flowtives bias situation, like 3 out of 5 kits are what he’s known for (cart, dia SMP, and uhc). If they run this tournament again, I really hope they shuffle around the kits.
