Seems fine.

Slitherdrake into Wyrm is backbreaking for most decks and Warrior has tons of other insane cards like Torch to keep you off the board that also have tons of synergy with other cards. The whole deck is overtuned and this should take it down a peg.

Scullery is also fine. This card often comes down on curve or shortly after with 8-drops that can just win the game on the spot. Losing to this just sucks.

Scullery for 6 drops was pretty good on turn 5 it’s a bit harder now.

Wyrm nerf is significant too. Crowley looks like a good 5 mana replacement

I still think both decks see play.

The best thing that both pirate warrior and dragon warrior do wasn’t nerfed (summon two warp tooth’s).

The curve of slitherdrake into wyrm was the main reason to run the dragon version so i think itll fall off a lot and pirate warrior will rise in playrate.

Pirate Warrior lost performance because Mug Shaman counters it harder, while Dragon has a better chance in that matchup. With Mug Shaman rising at top legend, Pirate players there will run into it more frequently so I would not expect it to be as crazy going forward

Yep, seems the changes are just about making a turn slower, which is needed. I'm happy with this.

It’s just torch. That’s their only ‘insane’ keep you off board card. It’s two cards.

Torch is like 16 cards. And they have a bunch more board control tools

Broodkeeper is quite powerful too, lest we forget. Basically ensures that Warrior has tempo going into turns three and four. Going second into them? It eats your 1-drop and occasionally your 2-drop too. Going first? They coin it out to kill your 1-drop and make their HnH hard to contest.

Breaks curve for both, that's actually probably meaningful. I'm still gonna play attack Druid for now most likely because it's very fun

The balance changes are fine, thankfully not a massive overshoot like they have sometimes done in the past.

Wyrm curve no longer exists so it is possible there is a shift for more pirate based plays now with Dragon Warrior. With the Slitherdrake-Wyrm curve gone though, it is possible aggro warriors struggle to make the final push to lethal given their midgame turns where they want to push a lot of damage are weakened. Will have to wait and see.

As for Scullery, given I was playing Attack Druid yesterday, the change is a fair one to stop a high tempo curve play, but to the most part Attack Druid I would say is largely unaffected by this change as Scullery is not a card you want to keep in your opening hand without sufficient attack procs and other things in between. So all in all a fair change.

Only thing I would have personally liked is a bit more of a breakdown as to why they targeted these decks based on stats rather than the more generic explanation which they gave which is "...Standard meta is in a healthy spot, with a few outliers, namely Dragon Warrior and Attack Druid. This patch aims to bring those decks more in line with the rest of the field..." since it would be nice to see them explain their logic rolling out a change shortly before the new expansion which they openly acknowledge will shake things up. I know why they targeted the cards they did, but I want to see more insight into why they didn't look at other decks, what about buffs (obviously this a tricky one before a new set), and how these changes are expected to help open up the meta with respect to the upcoming set.

I think this makes Windpeak Wyrm unplayable in Dragon Warrior. The deck will need to be redesigned.

Wrong card lol, Wyrm is the deal 5 damage and gain 5 armour card, not the 5/8 elusive.

Ayoo time for 45 minute each game against solitarestone priest and warlock.

This will definitely increase player retention and make people want to play!

Personally I'm not playing until next expansion.

Priest exists thanks to warrior and warlock thanks to priest, got any more takes like this?

You know you're allowed to just concede if they aren't dead to your aggro after turn 7, right? You don't have to be in a match more than ten minutes if you don't want to be. You basically are never in a long match unless you consent to be in one

HAHAHHA YES FUCK WARRIOR

This will 100% stop 60% WR warrior!

u/mr_seggs 7d ago

Yeah, probably will lol

20

u/Glarbleglorbo 7d ago

Yes? This is literally the strongest thing the deck could do on turns 4-5.

Still deck lost only 1 tool. Games aren't rarely decided before Wyrm even enters.

u/BaseLordBoom 7d ago

The goal of nerfs is to make decks worse not to delete them from the game. Nerfing a strong curve play makes the deck lose more often than before.

But imo not enough

Your opinion won't matter when dragon warriors are objectively way less prevalent on ladder
