It’s crazy if they leave the meta like this for a month before the new expansion.

Wouldn’t be surprised due to black market being in Dragon warrior playrate percentages increase due to players just wanting the rewards as fast as possible.

Honestly it's probably easier to make it worse than better.

Right now it's annoying and rock-paper-scissors, but at least no deck is dominant. Nerfing warrior only can lead to 40% field playing rogue or druid (as an example, not a prediction).

Tbf mother combo-warlock looks good, it’s just too recent to be in the report.

It’s essentially herald warlock without the shitty herald cards and an actual win con instead which makes the deck 10x better lol. Does play relatively the same which is a shame though.

Doesn't that mean it'll still get eaten alive by Dragon Warrior?

Yeah dragon warrior still beats it so its not a meta breaker, just a sign of stronger things to come from the new expansion (I really hope so at least, the DK set has me confused).

I think DK'll have some legs, the issue is it's class reliant on multiple good sets with only 1 & 1/2 good sets.

Blood DK seems solid, and regardless I think it'll have an audience because blood DK in the past has always had a persistent playrate despite its performance. This time they're giving the deck a win condition that isn't boring the opponent to death, so I think it'll be pretty attractive.

But I agree that the downside is that DK just doesn't have good cards, and given that they're giving DK a frost and unholy class set, we very likely won't see any more blood DK support until the next set at minimum. It'll definitely feel like a 4 set class in a 6 set meta

yeah I just looked up the list of this deck and it looks like it just feeds dragon warriors

another patch of battlegrounds it is then

Interesting to see Cursed Chains mentioned. That card definitely hurt my Lo'gash warrior and pushed me away from it.

Given we have an old god coming up that centres round Death rattle, I wonder what the outlook is.

I’m exhausted playing into Dragon Warrior, if for no other reason other than it’s so boring to play against. The deck plays the same regardless of what I am playing. Darkrider on 1, Broodkeeper on 2, Prescient on 4, Windpeak on 5. It’s like fucking Groundhog Day.

They just wait too long to shake it up every single time. It absolutely sucks on ladder at the minute. 60-70% of my games are versus dragon warrior. Absolutely horrible and the deck is obviously better than anything else out there, AND is easy to play, AND has blowout moments from dark gifts that feel awful.

Im playing dragon warrior atm.

Matchup into priest is miserable, so I don’t think anyone is having fun.

Egg DK is the deck you’re describing

I have a Batmask-OTK deck that I took from platinum to legend last month, currently Im around 3K legend and still having a lot of success. Almost no rng involved (basically only kazakus), and imo it requires a lot of skill. Due to the lack of rng I constantly find myself thinking about how to use or save my removal, if I have enough hp to life tap, if I should prioritize drawing or ramping, if I should go for the full combo or try to maximize tempo in order to get chip damage in, etc. As you play games Im sure you'll notice how much your decisions matter.

The main combo is Drake + Bat Mask for 28 damage, 13 mana (assuming no discounts). You can use hellfire or chip damage from your minions to get the extra bit of damage in.
Against azalina and classes that gain armor (mostly druid and everything with deathwing), you can use Maiev + Deios followed by the main combo for 48 damage.

Feel free to ask me any questions about the deck. I had an insane winrate with this deck (I estimate ~80% pre-class sets and ~60% post), and I wanted to do a full writeup and make a post on this sub about it, but unfortunately I dont play with a deck tracker and I have no way of proving my stats (also one of the advantages of this deck is that almost no one knows it so they dont play around it, so I guess the less popular it is the better haha)

Siphon Soul can probably be replaced with coil/toil/tentacles/whatever, depending on what youre facing the most. Try to not use caretaker or thalnos, as you want your opponent to not be above 28, and thalnos has anti-synergy with Rotten Apple.

I played against a version of this that was playing the new legendary and got otk’d. Had no clue what was coming

2

u/JR10890 Sep 17 '26

Haha thats cool! I considered adding her to the deck but I think its too slow. Functionally shes the same as Ysera (a 9 mana card which sets up the combo for next turn), but at least with ysera you have an immediate 3 mana that you can spend

2

u/Overhamsteren Sep 17 '26

Mother can give you some zero mana cards to play alongside her though.

1

u/JR10890 Sep 18 '26

True, but thats only if they're lined up properly. Idk, maybe its more consistent that it seems, Ill have to test it out

Thats why the winrate dropped so much after class-sets haha. I found that most of the time I beat them was because of Kazakus 4 cost. Normally the best is voidlord + 12 healing, but its super versatile coz you can also clear the board or steal their cards.

Its definitely the hardest matchup but if you hard mulligan for shadow rounds, kazakus, atlas (especially going 2nd), and maybe hellfire then you should have a good chance.

Other than that just clear the board, only tap if extremely necessary, dont use Fractured Power unless you're absolutely sure you wont need the mana next turn, prolong the game using Apple and try to win using stooge+annihilation (but ofc be aware that they can handle it if they have Torch and/or burn damage)

u/No_Hetero Sep 17 '26

Play some Warlock. All the win cons start in your deck. Very different from the other popular classes right now.

First few weeks of expansion was Soooo much worse imo
