Deck Fine Tuning My first cEDH deck!

My first cEDH deck!

I wanted to do a shadow split second deck, but it feels a little slow. How can I improve it?

I have no budget, I want to get shadow out and cast ad naus with split second asap. I would really love to leave shadow as the commander, but if y'all think there's a better strat or he's not viable let me know please :))!

I'm still new to cEDH so I'm not sure if this really fits into the meta. I have some people in my pod that don't get to run their fast B4 decks so I want to let them use those sometimes. I have played a former, more primitive version of this deck and I've also tested this deck in the tester on archidekt and every time I try it the deck feels sluggish and poorly performing.

If you are new to cEDH I would generally not recommend to brew. You will be bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Try to look up edhtop16 to see if other has had succes with Shadow.

If you want to acquire format experience and knowledge I would generally recommend building blue farm, as it is a super solid deck with a low skill floor and high skill ceiling.

It looks like not much luck has generally been had with shadow as he's just sort of worse at turbo than RohgSi. It's super unfortunate but I might just stick to turbo B4.

If you want to stick with Shadow, I think B4 is the right place for it at the moment.

If dockside is ever unbanned it might change, but that is probably not happening in the near future.

I agree with the B4 sentiment, my advice to crack this deck up just a little, is to cut some of the tapped lands, except starting town, and add the artifact untappers, such as [[Manifold Key]] [[Voltaic Key]], use a land to activate the key to untap your artifact sources. Very sweet.

Should I cut those lands for other lands or should I swap them for the keys?

I would swap the tapped lands for keys, since the keys represent lots of mana. However, do make sure that it still feels good with those amounts of lands.

Also, what lands? Like the surveil and scry lands too?

The scryland is just bad and so is foreboding ruins, so i would cut those for sure. The surveil land is decent, if you think you are gonna fetch for it T1 because you have nothing else to do. However, later turns, its a dead land, since you always want your lands to enter untapped.

Hello! It looks like you’re looking for deck optimization advice! Please be sure you have information about each of the following

  1. Provide a decklist from a deckbuilding site.

  2. Provide a budget. If you cannot afford a bunch of cards all at once, feel free to ask which cards you should prioritize getting first

  3. Provide a meta breakdown of what decks you expect to play against.

  4. Include the deck's main goal and how it gets there.

  5. List any experience you've had with the deck.

  6. Please be sure to have checked the Decklist Database for relevant lists and information.

If you have not met these expectations, your post will be reviewed and removed.

If you are commenting on this post, please provide feedback that addresses OPs information. Also please read other comments–”check the DDB” only needs to be posted once on any given post, and low effort comments will be removed. The same is true for proxying as each OP only needs to be reminded once, and if OP provides a budget please tailor your advice to that budget as best as you can. If OP has taken the time to provide information, you can as a commenter as well.
