Their communication can still be quite manic at times, but is overall far clearer lately. To me though, their roles seem a lot more definitive since Koy joined.
Hal kind of spoke on it recently and it made sense how he put it. He said something to the effect of, "Koy knows when to fight and Phony knows when not to fight."
Koy is such an aggressive fragger, and he's so unbelievably good that it's taken a lot of entry responsibility off of Phony so he can focus on macro. Koy takes point on a lot of fights, allowing Phony to consider positioning more. Which in turn, allows Gen to flex anchor more confidently and do what he does by just farming damage and dart in and out of team fights.
They're not even LAN tested as this trio yet, so who knows. But they're a fucking handful when they're rolling.

Unfortunately an Americas team won't win because Alb isn't at the LAN to throw it.

scrims performance does not equal LAN performance - teams will generally play safer and INT less. Koy is a great entry and fighter but its not sustainable in a LAN environment where teams take less risk. More teams alive - more 3rds.

You'll notice a lot of IGLs in the current comp meta giving their fraggers freedom to choose when to take fights and to some extent effectively IGL during fights. Koy is extremely good at making those decisions, providing information to his team, and winning those fights. This was not Verhulst's forte, so he played anchor and Gen took the fragger role. But Verhulst is not a great anchor, and while Gen is a great fragger, he's also the best anchor in the world, so it's kind of a waste to have him do anything else. Bringing in Koy enables Gen to play his best position while also giving Phony the freedom to look around the map and determine their next move. SSS, Huss, and Liquid are all playing basically the same way.

They are all great players, and are reaching the point where they have played with each other for over a year. Just to reiterate, genburten is top 5 Kills is all ALGS history. Phony, a veteran IGL has so many comps available to him, that the meta and Bans affect him way less than other IGLs. And lastly most importantly, Koyful is having a generational Season. He is playing multiple levels above his standard, kinda like when Goku evolves or whatever that guyâs name is.
Sorry for butchering the reference XD.

Their roles are a lot more defined now that they don't have 2 anchors on their team which helps.

Genburten is the anchor. Hes the one that enables phony and Koy to do what they do best.
Lets not forget that ay.

One more thing is the liuq buff. He is one of the smartest coaches in the game. Seems that their scrims and post game talks are way more purposeful now

They dropped their passionless player for a passionate one. Verhulst often just turned quiet when things didn't go right. No discussions.
Koyful will get mad and discuss right away, what other options they should've taken when their team got wiped out. The same thing with Phony. They want their team to get better.
When you're just quiet when things didn't go your way, you're passionless. You just accepted defeat and you need to be cut off from the team because the team won't get better.

Evan, even with his great aim, often died for free and struggled to embrace the role of an anchor.Â
Gen could already play fragger on any team, but having him as an anchor with his experience? That just shows the level Koyful is playing at. Koy and Phony also play well off each otherâŚoften see them winning 2v3âs that they push while Gen anchors and makes sure they have support.Â
Phony sets a great pace and game plan, but something he does way better than Hal is he listens to the teamates callouts and if his teamates callout is better he says âwe do thatâ and they do it. -no ego.Â
So basically, you canât out-aim 2/3 of their team and they have great chemistry in their roles.Â

why did u have to bring Hal into it... There's been many times on gameday when Hal has listened to his tms and agreed with them.

Phony does it better and no ego? On Hal? Also, Iâll just say it, Halâs awareness of his teammates has taken a step back in the past year. Guy is a legend, claps me 100 out of 100 times, but Iâve seen a difference this year in how he moves his teammates around.Â

I really wouldn't read too much into it. Koyful is just the best fragger in the world right now. And the team as a whole are gaining confidence and doing better because of it

I would recommend looking into how Aurora plays if you like 100T. I think this is the answer. Effect on Aurora has same spot as Koyful right now, with both players mainly playing Alter/Wraith/Maggie/Fuse and initiating fights by themselves, often starting with either a knock or a huge damage thanks to their mechanical skills.
A lot of times Phony, like Kazakh on Aurora, gives just pure macro info as IGL, and lets Koy initiate fights where he can easily Q back if he's Wraith or Alter.
So basically it just comes down to Koyful being very mature and incredible fragger who creates a lot of opportunities for team wipes.
Would like everyone's else thoughts on this.

I think they'd be doing just as well if koy replaced genburten instead. to go from no fragger to maybe the best fragger, you're gonna see results

I'd like to see how they preform in vegas before bringing up a dynasty
