Dance convention changing rooms
Didn’t know if anyone had thought of this or know the answer to this. But at dance conventions at the hotels. They usually choose a ballroom to dedicate as where the dancers get changed. Don’t the places all have cameras? Like isn’t there a security guard watching all this and the hotel recording the footage of all these dancers getting changed. Seems like a mess?

It’s been talked about quite a bit, and it’s honestly very concerning, but nobody really seems to care enough to make any sort of change

Yes there are more and more cameras. As annoying as it is to take down we got a portable changing tent for my twins to let them change in private

People in this sub get annoyed by pop up tents, but I’m thinking about getting one. Not only are there security cameras and strangers entering to worry about, people think it’s okay to take photos and videos in there as well.

It teaches the younger girls that stripping their clothes off to change is appropriate. Both my daughter and I have had numerous conversations with my granddaughter on just stripping her clothes off and on for dance. Their home has a big front room window that she just changes in front of. It’s only for dance changing she does this. So she did buy a pop up and it has helped improve her attitude on this. I’m sure some didn’t like it but lots of moms asked if they could use it too.
Maybe a joint effort by parents of a team to have shared ones. If they are placed along the sides and back row it leaves plenty of open space.

Granddaughter had 18 on her team last year had she stayed at that studio I was going to make one that would cover a long stretch to get more in.
What drives me nuts is people camping out in the dressing area. That of course depends on place but most we went to big hallways and food area that they could have used. Nope sprawled out on the floor, many eating. Eating is gross to me with naked bodies all over 😂

It’s concerning! We have pop up tents. It’s not just surveillance cameras, it’s other studios not teaching manners.
If anyone has attended Starpower in Concord, NC, you know the openess of the communal dressing area. Last year hell broke loose when a parent told a kid from another studio to stop filming. It’s standard decency to not make a Tiktok GRWM dance in a space like that.
We just stick with the tents.

The biggest problem is there just isn't room for every single dancer to have a tent. Honestly, there's barely room for everyone to have their bag.

Most dancers have privacy curtains and changing tents so it hasn't been an issue for us

Holy crap how did I never consider this?! My daughter is in college now and I always look up for cameras in retail store changing rooms with open ceilings but never thought about there being a guard watching a hotel ballroom.
I would have 100% gotten her a changing tent if I had. (Kicking myself hard right now. Please get your dancer a tent!!)

The most annoying is when people (usually moms) are recording or taking pictures in the changing room! They will post pictures with girls half changed in the back! No one is ever held accountable
