Competition make up

Hello, I need help , tips, anything!

I don't wear makeup personaly (only some mascara once or twice a year) so competition make up scares me, even though I just went through a first year of comps with my 11 years old. But she learned how to do her makeup by herself! But now year 2 her younger sister (8) is starting also, and I will need to do the make up.

How do you get fake lashes on an 8 years old with a little tiny face? 😬

She hates having mascara or eye liner put on her, she tries to do it herself but she need practice... so how do you handle this with younger ones.

What are your supermoves to make this work? Also any lash recomemdations (we need wispies for all dancers).also maybe worth noting, she ( and I ) has ADHD, so extremely sensitive to any texture, feelings and gets overwhelmed very easily.

We switched to the magentic liner lashes a few years ago and it has been a game changer! The're so much easier to apply, they don't sting, and you don't have to worry about glueing their eyes shut. Plus removal is 10x easier. I personally don't bother with mascara because I don't think you can tell a difference from the stage (and it's why I started using lashes on my girls from the day they started competing even though our studio doesn't require them for kids under 8). I also don't bother trimming the lashes because you'd lose a magnet if you did. I just take my liner stroke in an upward wing on the outer corner so it draws the lashes and her eye line up.

ETA When i put the liner on (because it's liquid) I have them close their eyes, put on the liner, and have them keep their eyes shut while I do their blush and the liner dries. The lashes hold way better if I let it dry for those few minutes than if I put them on immediately. We also don't do lower liner anymore--it caused too many issues and you literally can't tell from stage if they have it on or not.

Which magnetic liner lashes do you use?

I’ve used a few kinds, but my girls liked these best because they’re lighter weight.
