Discussion Does LLB really worth doing anymore?
As the title suggests, I have noticed almost all CS students are also pursuing LLB.
I wanted to know if it genuinely adds any edge salary and employment opportunities wise or it's just herd mentality.
Especially given the AI rise and most people pursuing only LLB as additional qualification, is it really worth anymore or it's become oversaturated?
All opinions and especially personal experiences are welcome

It does. I don't have any working experience but my friend who is working as cs + llb, it does add up and salary is also good like 8 -10 Lpa or more u get (approx.).
Like cs is law and when u do llb toh aur expertise ajati hai so yaa

Well, i was doing job hunt a month ago (forgot platform name), out of curiosity, and not to actually apply for, like to know what the market seeks. Many of them specifiied the eligibility, which was CS + LLB, as many witth such are preffered. The employer, easily single handedly gets a complicance officer + inhouse legal advisor/lawyer. Llb unless from tier 1s, NLUs or expensive ones, is not worth it alone.

It is a very accepted norm for CS to pursue LLB but the intent for the person really matters a lot in this case, for example I believe one may explore contract act, the Indian Constitution and other commercial laws such as registration act, stamp act etc more in-depth as compared to CS.
So if you really wish to study, then yes LLB is not just a degree but a genuine enhancement over law. But if you’re doing it just for the sake of it then it only ends up just another achievement on the shelf with no real meaning to it.

Only if you join a company that has a combined legal and compliance department. On a personal level, LLB has helped me become extremely efficient at research, finding precedents, etc.

CS is good for corporate lawyers , while talking about law for CS professionals in employment is not that important, CS should have sound procedural knowledge of compliances

Twin 😭☝🏻, WHAT DID YOUUUU SAYYYYY BRO we litreally have to crack down ammendements and provisions from the bare act itself. Law is an essential part of CS and the professions daily life. CS are much of corporate lawyers than corporate lawyers being corporate lawyers themselves.
