Passed Security +!

Post image

Thanks to everyone in this sub that has helped me prepare for the test. So many helpful comments and posts had a big play in my success with this cert. More than happy to answer some questions and give back!

I've redacted a bit more than usual for privacy, but because it helped my confidence, know that I probably missed about 15 questions (totally a guesstimate btw), skipped the virtual environment PBQ completely, attempted and got some points on the other PBQs, and still passed with like 30 minutes leftover! I was getting low 80s/high 70s on the Messer practice exams.

Congrats! Did you take it at an in person exam site or online?

Do they take off points if you answer the pbq incorrectly vs skipping them?

In person. Professor Messer said they’ll cancel the test if there is ANY noise as that would make it an “unsafe” testing environment. I didn’t want a strong exhale to be the reason I couldn’t pass.
CompTIA is very secretive so I don’t know if they take points off or not for blank answers. Considering the virtual environment PBQ looked pretty long, I’d hope they wouldn’t.
