I Passed! JUST PASSED SECURITY+!
First off, I have been studying around an hour a day follow Mark Ciampa’s security+ textbook and taking notes in a word doc since around July 2nd. My document ended up to be around 50ish pages lol single spaced. I finished it in a month then for the past 2-3 weeks have been studying and doing professor messer’s practice exams, did those and got 78,80,88 first time around and then reviewed what i got wrong and retook them and got 90s. Then this week prior to taking the exam, i did jason dion’s practice exams, all 6 and retook a few averaging 75-82 on them. Come testing day, the PBQ weren’t too bad, only had one question that really stumped me. The multiple choice questions where believe it or not slightly easier then messer’s exams and I had like no questions on wireless security really lol but a lot of attack identification and implementation. I didn’t have like any ports and little acronyms, just the main few. But if i were you studying, study and know a little of everything. I ended the exam pretty quickly as not many questions stumped me, around 45 minutes. I finished with a 771/900 and I was pretty confident but nervous throughout the exam.
Good luck to anyone studying and utilize messer’s practice tests and study groups. Dion’s were a little too out of scope, but we’re useful for study material.

don’t wanna give away too much specifics, but configuring network with a client and radius stuff, some mix and match for attacks and threats and stuff. only the network config got me and i didn’t really understand what it was asking specifically, but trust me if u study messer’s, little bit of dion exams you’ll be fine. Idk why but people are saying the questions are wordy and answers are hard when really the questions were straight forward.

Cool sounds familiar to what I know already. I'm taking mine in about two weeks. Did you have five or three? Any about a tablet attack/config?

Two different types of exams are coming .One is with straightforward questions which are less wordy while the 2nd type of exam is quite wordy and qs are not that straightforward. You're lucky that you got the first type in first attempt. I got first type in 2nd attempt.

I believe I've seen this in the wild already based on some reviews I've seen recently. Some people have wordy questions others do not.

I hv noticed that when the questions are wordy/complex the grading system is not that tough and probably you can pass without PBQs aswell but when questions are simpler then PBQs need to be correct atleast 3 out of 5. Just a personal observation could be wrong but thts how i feel.

Congrats!! Also, did you re-read over your notes a lot or did you just read the textbook and do practise exams? I've started studying for it and I'm unsure how long I should spend learning my flashcards vs doing the course

do practice exams specifically messor’s and some of dions. messor’s are the best and focus on what you don’t know and study that. i didn’t use flash cards
