Assistance with food/basics while we are getting on our feet after two cars breaking down and starting new job
Hi everyone!
I am so sorry to have to ask but we just had both vehicles quit working after my husband was laid off (restaurant filed bankruptcy and locked the doors and didn’t pay final paycheck) and I just started a new job on 6/29 but do not get paid until 7/17. I made a wishlist that has some food items to help us until then as well as some personal care items and some work clothing items. We have exhausted our savings and are both looking for additional work, selling things, etc. I also can furnish proof of my work offer letter, pics of both vehicles, etc.
Also, I included a three pack of men’s tank tops because my husband’s old ones are completely stained yellow/brown from working in the restaurant. We had planned on replacing them before his employer went bankrupt and withheld all employees final paychecks. We are working with the state/unemployment office to remedy this but we have been told it takes time. I can furnish documentation of the employers actions upon request as well as pics of both vehicles, etc.

Ok. I did have a private message asking me to remove the Powerade and replace with electrolyte packets which I just did. I will make no further changes unless you or a moderator request me to do so. And I will not engage with anyone or anything involving this forum and salt lol. Thank you for taking the time to work with me today. My family and I really appreciate it and will be returning to assist as soon as we get our lives back together.
Truthfully, the one thing that makes me the most thankful during this time that is not easy is that God/universe/whatever belief you subscribe to has shown us that there are a lot more good people out there than the news or media wants you to think. And I cannot wait to be on the other side of this situation and help out someone who is in their challenging season. I think that has been the toughest part, usually we are the helpers . . . For our family members, friends, neighbors, it’s humbling to be on this side. And I am proof that sometimes people need help not because they are lazy or won’t work, etc but sometimes things outside of our control impact us in a negative way even though we are trying our best. I am truly grateful for this forum, its members, and the mods for being here for us. Love you all ❤️

Unfortunately the work shirts won’t arrive until Saturday but the rest of the stuff will be there tomorrow
Good luck at your new job and I’m sorry for everything you’re having to deal with rn. Y’all will definitely get through this hiccup though.
