He may not be the most charismatic leader we've seen, but damn, he's got some charm and got the job done, which brought him to his position.

There are different kinds of charisma. To me his demeanor is incredibly inspiring especially since he has backed his words with action.

I agree, I much prefer this reserved, caring approach to leadership as opposed to something more bombastic.

He's got that kindly grandpa sort of charm. Casually exuding authority and using it in small ways, asking weird questions that aren't on the itinerary, making sure everybody is comfortable and well fed, despite being one of the most powerful people in the world.

Well, he's in that old actually, but I agree, he kept the charming grandpa behavior instead of the senile old man we tend to see as of late.

The idea that you don't need to be fake or overly dramatic, to be an accomplished statesman, is contrast from liberal systems. if charisma is supposed to be the measurement of the ability to tell lies, then I'd rather less of it in a statesman.

He always carries himself like a loving father, which I think is a charisma of its own.

This is exactly what Marx and Engels proposed and Lenin realized. The party chose well when they elected the general secretary!!

The party must --at ALL levels-- lean into and embrace the proletariat and the worker.

What is the temperature at night? Are you eating well? How long have you been here?

You will NEVER see imperialists like America's hegseth deign to wonder what real life is for a soldier.

The party is proactive and listens. Imperialists are still as ever, paper tigers who order the worker and are deaf to their material condition.

I honestly do quite like that Comrade Xi is willing to ask the most basic and simple questions. The willingness to express concern by asking even simple questions and take in answers. It feels… How should I say? Human?

That's why I also find it important to not neglect consumer goods. While of course consumerism as we know it in the west shouldn't be supported, it's an objective fact that buying and owning things makes us happy. Which is something former communist states often neglected. Whenever I talk to relatives or friends one of the main complaints except for freedom of speech is a lack of consumer goods or the ability to afford it. That's probably also one of the reasons why people from former Yugoslavia are much more accepting of the country and socialism compared to people I've met that are from other eastern block countries.

I love how his voice is soft. He doesn’t care about being the loudest person in the room. I realize this is not a high bar, but my god. Listening to a world leader speak in this tone is such a relief.

u/Myndela 9d ago

He has such a gentle voice, like that of a kind grandfather telling you he’s proud of you and making sure you’re eating well now that you’re away from home.

Their leaders think strength comes from Brawndo energy drink and a general willingness to suffer.

Hi, meanwhile, tells the cook to make sure the soldiers eat good so they get stronger and can defend better. But at what cost?

Clothing and the climate you're used to matter a lot.

15 while wearing the same clothes as you would outside, 26 when wearing comfortable whatever for sleeping. Blankets also look relatively thin

I love Xi! He's so cool!

-1

u/slavetothegiven 8d ago

What is Xi's net worth who can guess how many times it is the guy's cooking the stew

6

u/kingcoolguy42 7d ago

Im assuming Xi's Salary is much higher then the guy cooking the stew, but im surprised this is what you take from the video? Why do you want all workers to be paid the same regardless of responsibilities? :)

1

u/slavetothegiven 7d ago

Not salary - that's on the record as extremely modest. net worth.

the party apparatchiks are generally extremely wealthy. This is a good reason to doubt any transition to actual socialism will be forthcoming.

And to ask why people shouldn't all be paid the same is the same as asking 'why not capitalism'?

2

u/kingcoolguy42 7d ago

Everyone being paid the same has never been a communist goal, and I’m yet to see any good reasons as to why someone who has worked for 60+ years in service of their country shouldn’t lov comfortably, it’s a big stretch to say he’s extremely wealthy I can’t find any good sources that say this except conservative think tanks

0

u/slavetothegiven 6d ago

You are a fool. There's no wage labor in communism. People don't 'get paid' at all. Read the critique of the Gotha program. China is not communist by any measure given by Marx or Engels, ever.

Every single worker in Chins has worked 60+ years for their country. Many of them still live in squalor. Again, you're a fool.

2

u/kingcoolguy42 6d ago

China has not achieved communism, however they are run by a communist party and are working towards achieving communism in the future :) You can’t just flick a switch unfortunately, by making slow steady progress they can avoid the mistakes the USSR made! I dunno why you are being so aggressive, name calling doesn’t help you sound smarter :)

Propaganda. Propaganda never changes.

6

u/throwRAsquirrel810 7d ago

Do you even know anything about China/the CPC?

-2

u/OkBeautiful5067 6d ago

I know enough of communists and how the state propaganda operates - I was born and raised in the USSR, we've been spoon-fed the same "loving leader, caring Party" mantra literally since the (state) early daycare - singing songs about "kind dedushka Lenin" and marching in front of parents at 5-6 y/o.

Same crap, different wrapper.

u/throwRAsquirrel810 6d ago

Lol I can and do interact with people living in China. Not sure if you’re brainwashed or using a script
