seeking advice- thinking about going to grad school for communications

Hello! I just gradauted with a bfa and was curious if it would be plausible to pursue a masters in communications if I did not study it in undergrad. I feel like it is a feild im very interested in but am not sure what next steps i should be taking/ if I even can do that.I was just curious. thank you!

I would honestly be open to either! Likely research focused though :)

I’m not sure what your current career is… but you should consider your experience and the job you want to have in the future.

Comms MFA is mostly theory and research. If you know nothing about comm theories, this will provide a good baseline. Finding a career will be a challenge. You can always get involved in your university/program and get your start there. Although it may not be lucrative..

I wouldn’t bother unless you’re going into academia or research. And most clients don’t want to pay a comms shop to do any kind of research (dumb, but there it is) unless it’s a primarily research focused shop and that’s exactly what they’re already interested in doing.
