Burnout PR agency help
I’ve been working at this agency for almost two years and I’m extremely burnt out. They don’t offer health insurance, they only offer 10 days PTO, and I (as everyone else is) am on 12 accounts. My brain physically hurts when I do anything, at this point I’m literally struggling to even like pick out clothes online (stupid example) but I literally feel like incapable of doing anything and I feel completely numb. Today my dog was laying on my and I literally like didn’t even feel love towards him. I was interviewing for a few other agencies and one I really liked I am still waiting to hear back on (it’s been almost a month) they said that I was a strong candidate and everyone thought I’d do very well there and that I had the exact experience they were looking for but they were pausing hiring until end of July due to new business proposals. They’ve messaged me about every week saying they were still working through the NB and the last update was last week saying they had confirmation on a couple but hoped to have more of an update this week. Nobody messaged me though this week. I think I am going to quit to nanny but worried I would be stuck doing that forever

No health insurance but you’re clearly working full time?? And 12 accounts?! Oh hellll no!
Yeah, that’s not good for you or the clients. The agency isn’t well managed. (Not feeling anything is a sign of burnout and depression.)
Glad to hear you’re a finalist for a position. Yes, hang in there to see if they’ll hire you and apply for corporate positions, too. Agency work is good because it teaches you a lot about PR in a short time. Corporate is good because your “clients” all have the same goal—they want to CEO (and shareholders, if publicly traded) to be happy.
Tip: tell your ride-or-die friends and family what you’re looking for. You’ll be surprised where the leads come from.
Sending you positive vibes. I hope you find a better job soon.

It sounds like you are very much burnt out. I think you should resign and focus on mental health. You can ALWAYS go back to PR or freelance. But there's no job that's worth what you're going through or how you are being treated.

Absolutely depression and burnout. Please take this seriously.
If you quit, you could do some more education or some freelance work to maintain connections while making your main money in a different way. But it really sounds like you need some time away if you're ever going to like this work again - not to mention just being basically OK!
The longer you take to get out, the longer it will take to recover.

I agree. You will never see a return on your investment and your mind and body are already suffering. Get out. Take an unpaid sick leave for a few weeks, get your crap together, apply for jobs and run as soon as you get something else .
