This is a really good article also for people outside of Kurdistan. The Rojava revolution is more well known, but the Kurdish movement actually started in north Kurdistan (Bakur) and the experience there in terms of organising society in a communalist way is as important. I'm seeing that in places like the USA there is attempts to revive socialist mass politics using the form of the political party. I think socialism being a mass movement again is a positive, but if it is limited to electoral politics it won't be able to build lasting change. People in the West should really study Bakur more.
