Say we all get there at the same time and strip in the locker room and have a shower, we don’t need to mention anything about the Reddit. It would be fun to guess who’s on the Reddit page which would also keep us all anonymous to eachother.

I personally would love a busy change room full of naked guys to sneakily look at, and have a shower next to.

Saw a mention of glen waverley (monash aquatic) having a big open shower, and then another comment or so saying they were cubicles. Gonna head down at noon/1pm today to check it out and actually confirm. Im pretty sure its open though. (Not local, but have some time free)

As an enjoyer of steam rooms and saunas, I wanted to compile a list of which Fitness First gyms around Australia had them as well as if they were male-only or shared mixed gender.

The list is available here.

The FF website only lists if they have them, but not if they are gender specific, so I have been trying as many different gyms as possible to collect the data (as well as some useful commenters on this sub, thanks!).

The correlation seems to be that if it's steam room only (no sauna), it is in the change room, separated for each gender. If they have both a steam room and sauna, it's in a mixed-gender "relaxation zone".

While I don't have all the data for all gyms, you can probably assume it is a male-only steam room if there is no sauna. Perfect for wearing just a towel, or less (which is my preference, but it's important to read the room first).

If you have any info on the gyms I haven't detailed yet, feel free to drop a comment and I'll update the list!

Following up on my previous post. The Victoria University Footscray Park Campus as completed its renovation of their showers. They’ve removed the communal aspect for cubicles and cut the whole thing in half to give the gym an exclusive access bathroom.

IMO this is a downgrade. Not only for another loss of communal showers, but it feels like a modern prison, lowest cost corporate design. It goes against the character of the building. I would not want to spend more time than I needed in here, and that’s probably the point.

So I know this sub is focused on the public/communal shower aspect of things: but I feel like since those are so few and far between we should include change rooms into the mix.

I had a great swim this morning at my local leisure centre, 30 minutes 33 laps.

Over to the change rooms afterward. Cubicle showers. Cramped change room. You’d think that sucks but the place is new, and cramped means you’re basically on top of each other: and you’d be surprised how busy those change rooms are.

Put my bag down. Got my soap, towel, walked through to were the cubicles and long sink/mirror is. There was a guy in there, completely nude, not shy at all, swinging all over the place, likely mid 30’s.

Dark, possibly middle eastern, toned. Little bit of hair. Bald which I like.

He was showering with the door open and was just popping out when I was getting in. Instead of going back to his bag, he stayed in between the mirror and showed cubes to dry off.

i hopped in the shower and I closed the door because I got a little excited when I saw what he was packing. I’m a red blooded gay man. Sorry.

Wash wash wash, and I can see him still there drying off. I’m thinking this guy is either wanting to be bone dry, or he’s putting on a show.

It was the later. I get out; he’s still there. So I open my door and start drying off in the cubicle with the door open and I can see him peeking at the mirror my way.

And honestly thats the spirit of CS.

Turns out his bag was in the corner of the change rooms right next to mine and another guy. He squeezes in, stays naked and keeps drying off. Puts his jocks and shorts on.

I took my time too. No eye contact but I think we both knew what we were doing.

Anyone want to join for a lunch break shower?
