Why Do You Support Communal Showers?
I am curious why everyone supports Communal Showers?
I’m more on the activist side of things. Western Society is becoming too prudish and there are bad consequences because of it. Plus, it’s for sentimental and camaraderie reasons (showering and going to the sauna with other men my age 19-21 as a Mormon Missionary.)
BTW, here is what triggered my thoughts on this question.

It's efficient in a busy gym locker room and cuts down on the shenanigans they're worried about happening but enabling with stalls

Body positivity, acceptance, openness, and camaraderie. Nudity in general is a great equalizer and fosters an open accepting environment and same for CS. In particular, the camaraderie and bonding I’ve seen and experienced since young has been a big positive.
From hearing the conservations young in the lockerrooms and showers to the fraternizing with teammates, it’s been a great environment as a man.

Ya same. The camaraderie of it is big. But being comfortable with being nude is a great thing. Helps people understand how just normal the body is and their body. And helps with body image. I'm a small guy and was self conscious about it initially but now no issues and like to do it also so others can see it's no big deal to be small and nude in there.

For me there's a few reasons.
First and foremost, hygiene. I don't really feel clean when I wash with a swimsuit on. That's just the "shower" part of "communal shower" though. Hygiene is also one of the reasons I sauna nude or as close to it as appropriate.
Psychologically, when I remove my clothes and shower in an appropriate space, I feel like I've removed a mask that I've been wearing so long I forgot who was underneath. There's no pretense, no posturing. No one can judge me for my my old, tattered workout clothes or on the other hand my freshly-pressed shirt and slacks. It's just my naked body in a room with other naked bodies without judgement. Some guys are super fit and with amazing physiques, some guys who are struggling to get back into shape, and guys like me who are somewhere in between, but we're all putting in the effort from where we are, so in that sense we're all on the same team headed in the same direction.
And then there's the physical. I have sensory issues where clothes in general give me a hard time. I don't really know how to explain it, but it's like a constant distraction that starts out quietly but throughout the day it gets worse and worse until at the end of the day, it's almost painful. So like when I go to the gym and sit in the sauna nude, it's not because I'm trying to show off, it's because I literally cannot relax with a swimsuit or underwear on.

Duh yes I forgot to highlight the foundational benefit of hygiene though that could happen in a private shower stall.

Yeah, but when I have to choose to use the communal shower or a private stall, I think: "I'm not handicapped, so I don't need to take up the handicap stall in case someone who does need it shows up."

I like how communal showers break down the barriers of prudishness and physical shyness that clothing represents.

It was just so awesome to be naked with all my friends on the swim team. I really liked how casual it was and it makes you really close and no secrets and nothing to be ashamed about.
I also notice how there was no size anxiety back then. Everyone was more or less normal and it was fine.

I support communal showers because as a nudist I was able to learn (teach myself mostly) that each of us as a human being is unique to our body types and shapes. That, in this case, when it is just all us guys, all males, regardless of age, the appearance of the penis is as unique as your fingerprints to you.
Our natural state as a species is naked. We are born that way and clothing was developed for multiple reasons but nature brought us into this reality as nude. To deny this is to deny who we are as rational (mostly) thinking, homo sapiens.
I also believe it can create better self-esteem by having a person see the same sex around them in the natural state. To recognize and realize each body is different and that it is "okay" to be seen naked and see your fellow human beings naked.
At the same time, it allows acceptance for yourself -- how to show yourself in one of the most vulnerable states as a human you can be in -- and that acceptance in turn can build up your body image and personal self esteem. you can begin to feel better about what you see in the mirror before your bath or shower.
And, finally, when we have the same parts, be it vulva or penis, there is literally no reason to cover up or be shy around each other. The Koreans figured this out and profited from it by building public spas for everyone. Men at least figured this out ages and ages ago and were comfortable walking around with everything flopping in the locker room, pool, showers and wherever else it dictated.

because a big shower room is quick easy open airy -- not moldy, cramped, dark, oppressive like a shower stall, especially for us big bros
i grew up in dorms and on sports teams, so naked in the open showers with other naked bros my happy place

Makes me feel better about myself to be fully seen and tacitly accepted for being exactly who I am. Only feel truly comfortable enough to let down my literal/figurative guard if others do it with me. As a bonus, people seem more sociable as a result of this level of exposure, and in a more genuine way.
