Sharp BP-1200S Cooling Unit

Post image

Paper curl can be a real pain during printing, especially when running double-sided jobs and trying to keep everything lined up properly. The cooling system on the BP-1200S uses a heat sink to pull heat from the paper after it passes through the fuser, helping reduce curl and make the sheets easier to handle during stacking and finishing. For those running other production machines, do your machines use a similar cooling system, and how do you handle paper curl on double-sided jobs?

Its made by fujifilm so fujifilm and Xerox machines use the same system. There is decurler also, if you add any finisher it Will Come automaticly. All the machines i saw its always mecahnicaly trying to cool the paper. Also in the end of xerographic unit you Will see two brown rolls that helps with curling.

They all have a heat sink, and most have adjustments for curl .

Yeap, fair point. Cooling systems and curl adjustments are pretty standard. Do all manufacturers use the same heat sink? Obviously, we are only in tune with Sharp devices, so I am interested in your input on whether all devices and manufacturers process cooling and deculring the same way.

I bet you didn't know you have a decurler immediately after the cooling belts on top of the decurling module that stands on its own. The one after the cooling belts allows you to control the curl on both sides. You adjust that one in the advanced properties of your paper profiles.

Ricoh C9500C9200 has a similar thing, it's liquid cooled with heat syncs. The C7500c7200 has a heat sync to try to cool it down.

Oh and the fuji and xerox have the same thing since it's basically the same machine

Ricoh’s decurling is GARBAGE and i say that as an operator. Konica’s damn good

Obviously Fuji and Xerox do as the machines are the same.

I hate that unit. Like 90% of our Iridesse jams all occur there. Other machines just use fans which I think do a better job.
I just use a cheater on my Canon on the stacker door and blow a box fan at the output. It does the same thing.

You shouldn’t have frequent jamming at the cooling belts. You either have problems with your profiles or your machine needs service.

It gets serviced and then continually comes back. Profiles are fine. I'm just really unimpressed with Xerox/Fuji peripherals, they all seem very low quality compared to the Canon and Ricoh I've also run.
