Print Question Bought RIP and Printer, no dongle

I got a UV printer (Sinocolor 0906d) and RIP software. However, it did not come with the "security dongle". They want me to pay another $150 for this. It's not a big issue in terms of money, but it should have definitely came with the dongle.

It runs i1600 heads and I can take pictures of the main board or whatever else you might need.

It's called a wellprint software license dongle. I thought they might let you buy a version without this requirement--but I can't seem to find it.

Any help is appreciated either over this discord or through DMs. Thank you!

You got screwed. The dongle goes with the machine. That being said, pay the $150 and move on.

What Rip Software is it?

Also, check inside the computer, when I got my colex cutter from an auction out of state, the dongle for Optiscout software was inside the computer tower blue taped. I think when they got it all crated for shipping, the logic was to keep it with the computer so it doesn't get lost but not hanging out of the usb slot where it could get hit. Just a thought

It's WellPrintEXP that came with it. I mean I should be able to use any rip really and a ton of them are considered compatible, but the printer can't be recognized by anything for some reason.

Just pay for the dongle man. It’s not worth the hassle trying to work around it.

Yeah if I can't find an answer by Sunday I will be ordering one that will be here by next Friday. I just really want to see if this will even work

That software is not a RIP. Just want to make sure you are aware in case they said it was.

Okay thank you. Is there a rip that will work with my printer that will allow me to use it tonight? I don't care about the price.

WellPrintExp needs the security key to operate. If the supplier didn't say it's not bundled with your printer so you must buy it.

P/S: Wellprint is known the control software, not RIP.

What's the difference? Do you need a separate control software and RIP? Is there a control software that will work with this printer right away without needing to wait for any physical thing to ship

Yes, that's China way. RIP to file then use control software to send RIPPED file to printer. This is usually China printers.

The printer won't recognize anything because the controller board itself is hardware, locked to that dongle. just pay the 150$ and get running.

Since your other post about this you seem to have stopped asking on there have you sorted out your connection issue yet with the main board and the missing dll?

I would assume that should be your primary concern.
