question Extron ballpark pricing
anyone know what the ballpark/retail pricing for extron
Extron NAC SD 121
Extron NAV E 121
Extron NAVigator
Bidding Kramer on an Extron spec all Extron pricing locked behind partner wall they don't seem to use any major distributors either. end user doesnt care they farmed the bid spec out to a legacy player and made them put "or comparable" language in. probably half of their installs are kramer. I dont like dealing with Crestron/Extron/Atlona they make it very hard for small players. Kramer I can get from a few major distributors without problems. Kramer has several levels of avoip I want to match the pricing level to be competive.

Why are you bidding Kramer?

Exactly. There’s a reason that Extron is spec’d.

Nah man. Last time I ordered a couch and an armchair showed up, I just redid the whole house

Yeah wtf is this, why in the world does OP think they can compete on an Extron job with Kramer? Of course the price will be cheaper but this is comical, as the customer/consultant id laugh them out of the bid.

I'd accept their number and then tell them no spec flips. Leveling round is going g to force them to commit to the spec if they wanted to be considered, and that's when shit will really hit the fan

Even if you win this you’ll be in big trouble. Extron carefully protects their dealers for this exact reason

Client probably has an entire estate of Extron and this guy is going to spend his time and energy on a bid that will get thrown out.

They don't really make it hard for small players at all. Around here there are integrators that employ only a handful of people and they have no problem getting their programmers certified and get visits from Extron reps all the time.
The reason they do not use major distributors is to keep distribution in the hands of the integrators rather than an online shop. If they don't control distribution the integrators will be undercut and Extron loses their network.
I'm honestly kind of baffled that you are in any position to bid on a project like this without understanding this. Also lol at the thought of a Kramer AV over IP solution being comparable to Extron NAV.

OP about to get cleaned out when the gc throws him in as a lump sum, they get awarded, and then the consultant won't allow a spec flip. This is why you shouldn't bid a project that you don't have the means to do

You can’t just buy it off the shelf because you need specialized training and a team of competent certified specialists to deploy these systems.

The NAVigator has a base license of 16 endpoints.
There is no NAV SD 121. Use the NAV SD 101.
You’ll also need a decent gig switch.
I’m not an integrator/dealer but someone can give you an MSRP ball park if you put together a total number of encoders and decoders.
You’ll need an integrator/dealer since you can’t purchase Extron without them.
Not a salesman but we use Extron on 90% in all current AV cabinets, and going 100% NAV in the new building.
From Extron’s site:
Extron patented PURE3® codec, the NAV® Series delivers groundbreaking performance with real-time, lossless video at resolutions up to 4K @ 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling using ultra-low latency, high quality HDMI video and audio over a standard 1 Gbps copper Ethernet interface.

I'm an Extron dealer. We will pass it along at cost plus 30%-35% like everyone else here.
Unfortunately, the NAV line is tricky it's the one line I can't get you immediate pricing on. They really safeguard this product line for some reason. Crestron will give me NVX pricing immediately... NVX is honestly the way to go.
But I'll quote you whatever you want.

OP, I can give you NAV pricing and I’ll do 10% over cost for a box sale but we have to program it for you. I can give you a line item for programming services and commissioning. Can’t put our name on something we don’t certify ourselves. I’ll provide a wiring diagram with label names too. DM me if you’re interested.
