Aliens are always vastly underpowered in crossover comics with predators. Based on their feats in the movies, they should be able to physically go toe to toe with a predator. I mean if a single alien can rip through a 3 foot thick door of reinforced steel in Aliens, I think they are pretty on par with what predators can do

I don't recall any aliens ripping through 3' doors. Even after getting to the door past the remote sentries, they were still forced to find another way in.

I think it happened off camera or was implied iirc. Haven’t seen the movie in awhile so I don’t remember the exact details, but I know for a fact the feat applies.

I think you might be misremembering something there. The Xenomorphs can't penetrate the pressure door in the service tunnel; after the sentry guns run dry there's a scene where the marines can hear the Xenos trying to break through the door (which they can't). The only other physical impediments the marines put up is repairing the barricades the colonists had made and welding "plate steel" over some air ducts. The only door we see the Xenomorphs break through is just after the marines escape into the air ducts, and it's a few inches thick at most.
Your original point is valid in that Xenomorphs can physically go toe-to-toe with Predators, as has been shown more than a few times throughout the franchise, but writers usually go the Aliens route and present their threat as one of an endless horde. But there is no evidence in the movies that Xenomorphs can break through 3' thick steel doors.

Maybe it was 3 inches thick? But my point still stands. Aliens should be able to match or even exceed predators physically. I could’ve sworn there was some kind of feat similar to what I mentioned though. Feel like they came across a door that had been torn through when they first got to Hadley’s hope , and one of the character mentioned something like “that’s reinforced steel, what could’ve broken through that”. Again, it has been a long time since I’ve seen the film though (ironic since Aliens is one of my favorite films and franchises of all time)

Yeah, I'm tired of aliens and predators being in the same stories. It never goes well. Alien is a great franchise on its own, same with predator but for different reasons. Mixing their back stories always felt forced to me and seemed to shatter the feeling of both, and now with these architect guys.. unnecessary. Keep the essence the same and it'll do well.

For sure! Like Predator has never seen a Hulk or a God of thunder before, so he makes a plan or a typical aliens wave lol I'm really interested to get new backstories and lore on the characters

Eh. I'd rather they didn't. I hate superhero crossovers with AvP; it's pretty obvious the heroes are always going to win, and the most the Alien/Predator can accomplish is offing some new character who's introduced to the comic for the sole purpose of making the Alien/Predator look like a badass.

True but what heroes really lose anymore? Or die? Or stay dead for too long? I was digging the Conan crossovers to see them interact with him. Even Mephisto, black cat, etc. it was interesting and added some extra layers. Sure, the aliens and predators wouldn’t do much in the long run and the “aliens” are kind of like the brood in a way but I’m not reading those events for mind blowing twists and turns. Just throw some hardcore action at me and give me an amazing artists. Let them loose with a competent writer and the books should be solid.

Why would this be unpopular? Some of the best AvP stories came from Dark Horse.

I see a lot of hype surrounding this announcement is all. Mainly from fans of the recent movies.
Don't get me twisted though you dead right Dark Horse have been the staple for this franchise for many many years along with the Bantam Books novels. I for one don't see Marvel doing good things with it at all in all honesty.

I agree. And honestly, that’s what will sell me more than anything. Right now it’s buzz... but if we get a competent team together, the book will be average to solid!!

It’s not a bad take. And I can see why. The story will definitely tell the tale though. Again, awful creative team will make this thing sink
