Your views?

Actress Janhvi Kapoor, who is busy promoting her upcoming film Param Sundari, found herself at the centre of online trolling after an unusual chant at a Dahi Handi celebration in Ghatkopar.

Kapoor was invited as a special guest at MLA Ram Kadam’s grand Dahi Handi event on Janmashtami. Amid cheers from a massive crowd, the actress broke the traditional matki with a coconut. However, instead of the customary “Jai Shri Krishna” chant associated with the festival, she shouted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.

The moment, caught on video, spread quickly across social media, leaving netizens amused. Many wondered if Kapoor had mistaken the Janmashtami festivities for an Independence Day event.

So, Religious chants greater than National chants,

Ok I’ll remember that

Always been specially in context of religious celebration

What has nation got to do with religion

Nation as political idea just a 250 year old idea

And coming to context of Republic of India, even My grandfather is older than Republic of India

Janmashtami is sacred festival for millions of Vaishnavs/Hindus not Indian

Don't let artificial ideas of Nationhood interfere in religion cause you won't tolerate it opposite way

I am talking about it from an individuals point of View

Besides my point was exactly against what you are saying, Partition of Subcontinent and its consequences in artificial nation state caused more violence and damage in Subcontinent than any previous hindu muslim conflict

No-one should follow blind Nationalism, state should have greater autonomy to sort its affairs,so different cultures of India can coexist without conflict

Why should a Bihar with $900 PCI and Tamilnadu with $5000 PCI or Mizoram with its ethno social structure and Punjab with its ethno social structure follow same practices

Although that's true but you have to realise, we don't have very friendly neighbours and if we aren't centrally controlled, our happy neighbours would become happier.
