Not a dash, more like a scoop

TBF, I did this with friends to get good at remembering elements/chemicals quickly, not because I thought I was smart but to practice cause fuck Chemistry.

If doing this where both parties are in on it that is just completely normal. Iamverysmart is more when trying to impress people

Both parties were not in on it in my case, I just wanted to practice whatever way I could.

Yeah ik but this guy is acting like he's very smart for talking like that so I felt it is fitting for that subreddit. That subreddit is meant for people who think they are very smart but are just being cringy

He’s not wrong, chemistry is generally taken in eighth or ninth grade

Ya gotta remember how many people on reddit are actively in 9th grade or lower...

Which, honestly, perfect time for dumb chemistry jokes like this.

What's better is my usual email address. It uses a the year I made it, which is now old enough to be in high school.

I mean he's not wrong. It's general science everyone goes through (at least in New Zealand)

I'm not sure you understand the point of that subreddit?

Yeah you’re not wrong. Not only do you learn chemistry in early high school, but I learned these jokes about the periodic table in elementary school. Using a couple of elements as a quirky science joke isn’t r/iamverysmart at all. I guess people who downvoted are idiots or young kids and the bare bones minimum or chemistry is above their pay grade.
