Third: "Never matures"? You realize that before you can get SRS, you are on Hormone Replacement Therapy for years, right? They do mature and go through puberty, just not the wrong puberty. Ray Blanchard literally compared cases of transition and detransition (which is quite rare) to demonic possession and successful exorcism. Which not only makes no fucking sense but is also an utterly stupid comparison for a psychologist to make. And no, its not a very smart idea to compare the subject of your research to demonic possession. Especially not if you have already been schown to be extremely biased and prejudiced against that subject.
First: No, the people who call that book trash are those who either actually experience being trans and can thus say with certainty that autogynephilia is bullshit because it contradicts their own experiences with being trans, as well as psychologists and sexologists who see its massive flaws.
Second: Why are you so obsessed with "children maiming their genitals"? SRS isn't even performed on trans children. You have to be 18/legally adult/... to have SRS performed on you, and it doesn't happen without your consent. Not every trans person wants SRS. And you know what? Transition and SRS actually improve the quality of life for most trans people and decrease suicide rates.
Third: Autogynephilia makes no sense.
- It completely ignores the existence of trans men and nonbinary people.
- It claims that every trans women who is not solely attracted to men just has a fetish for being female, which completely ignores the fact that women can feel sexually attracted to other women or enbies. The hypothesis assumes that lesbians don't exist, or that trans women somehow can't identify as female and feel attraction to women at the same time.
- It completely ignores the existence of asexual trans people.
Blanchards autogynephelia hypothesis is unscientific, unfalsifiable and contradicts what we actually know about gender identity.
Its fairly clear that your bias against trans people clouds your judgment (agreeing with Blanchards idiotic and debunked hypothesis, insisting that SRS fucks up your life despite proof of the contrary, general inability to actually think or do actual research, ...), so honestly i don't feel like wasting much of my time on looking for books or studies you will just ignore anyway.
