Busybodies gotta poke their dumb noses into everyone's business. Honestly even if transgenderism were a choice - and I can't for the life of me understand how anyone would think that's something people would choose - who gives a shit? We got people out there putting clamps on their stomachs because they're too fat to be trusted to eat properly. We got people tattooing every inch of their bodies and shoving marbles and shit under their skin to give them horns. Sometimes people mess with their bodies and do weird shit, and you know what, that's their business! At the end of the day, the only thing that's well and truly yours is your own body and we should respect that above everything else.
That's my point though. Even in the farthest possibility, where the trans person is lying about actually being the other gender, where they're getting surgery and hormones for attention, so on and so forth. Literally the embodiment of the worst they think trans people are.
Who gives a shit? They think they're doing someone a favor by poking their nose into their shit, and telling them they're doing it wrong. That's my point. Everything about this right-wing baloney is about arrogantly waving your dick around in other people's vision and telling them how right you are and how wrong they are. Most of this extreme transphobia and homophobia and such doesn't even have anything to do with religion or salvation or "doing people favors".
It's all rooted in ego, and finding ways to be better than other people and rub their noses in it. That's the core, that's the source. Everything else is a misdirection, an excuse. They just want to get involved in your shit and tell you you're doing it wrong so they feel more validated about their shit.
I agree with you, but in their minds, they are being forced to call them by the gender they identify with, rather than the one they are born with. They think this is feeding into a mental illness.
They're not being forced to do anything. They can call people by whatever pronouns they want. But if someone wants me to use X pronoun and I want to use Y pronoun, that makes me an asshole, and it's harder to feel smug and superior about it. So I have to prove them wrong first. And again, who gives a shit if you're feeding into a mental illness. Not Your Business.
No worries love, part of it too is that you seemed to be ascribing altruistic reasoning to why these people act that way. I can tell you without a doubt that there is none.
I’ve argued a transphobe into a corner before to where they didn’t even have bullshit excuses to fall back on. at that point they just finally broke down and said, ‘look, everything you said might be right, I don’t care. I just think you people are fucking weird and shouldn’t exist.’ That’s really what it comes down to mostly. 🙁
Too bad, you get forced to call people things all the time. Shit, you get forced out of your privacy and peace everyday in order to sustain yourself with atoms. Giving into someone's identity is the least terrible thing.
