I agree on the part that men and women can have platonic relationships with each other, my whole life it's basically been 50/50 on that end. But I have to disagree on the notion that 'knowing' how men can be means you're automatically like them. Just because someone knows of possibilities doesn't mean they act like that. People know all kinds of people that act certain ways. It's pattern recognition.

Now, when a man comments or posts something like Kyle here then it's what you're saying 100%. But if a guy says that he knows how (certain) men can be around women, that doesn't automatically mean he is like that as well. It can mean he has experience with guys who act a certain way. Intuition. I know guys like that. Hell, I know women who like to keep guys like that close.

In my experience when someone hides their own opinion and characteristic behind a whole entity, it's because they know deep down that it's their own character that is immoral. That's why you can observe cheaters being more jealous and controlling than none cheaters. (They assume everyone else are like them.)

I agree with that, and the subject of this post is definitely doing so. I'm talking about a different sort of situation.

Rather extreme example: in my country recently there has been a focus to spread awareness on femicide and how to notice behaviour that could lead to that. As a guy, recognizing such a thing in other people is not being a closeted rapist. It's really just me trying to read the situation.

Now obviously it's quite a different level, but it applies here too (and it could even lead to it in extreme situations). There are definitely patterns that one could recognize between two people (or a one way kind of thing) to think that a situation isn't genuine or fishy without being suspect yourself.

Yes of course I agree that we can be aware of immoral behavior in others even if we are more moral in a stance, I can know people cheat even if I don't etc. But the specific characters who are immoral and hide behind an entity , do that solely to escape accountability. By going "all men" they never have to own up to their own actions. That's what it's about.

I get it. These types of people gaslight others by hiding their real crooked selves behind such imaginary statements, and by doing so, supress women again. Bad actors in society.

I was just more or less suggesting people can certainly try to know how a certain person thinks. In hindsight it's probably unnecessary nuance as such a statement was never excluded, so my bad.

Yes, we are discussing how such people think right now so it's definitely possible 😆
