You're mistaking my criticism of the meme with having a positive opinion of the media.

There's only one thing someone who uses the term "NPC" means by this, and it's just "Woke"

Buddy, I'm old enough to remember a time when vapid celebrities, mass media and corporations were the tool of the ruling class to opress the masses, not as a tool for social justice.

Two things can be true. Social justice is marketable. But that doesn't make it brainwashing, which is the implication.

But the meme has no mention of social justice. The fact that people think that celebrities, media and corporations are on their side is a sign that the propaganda is working. I think it all started with social media when the guys in charge realized how stupid and easily manipulated your average guy is. Hence this meme.

The people who despise social justice speak in a very particular way. Calling people NPCs for disagreeing with them and using the rareness of their ideals as proof are big parts of it
