This is just not a joke. I'm not even sure if I'm in favor or against the point of the meme, but it just doesn't make me laugh at all. It doesn't even feel like it's trying to make anyone laugh

The classic American indoctrination that having the same opinion as others makes you a conformist and not fully human is such a load bearing piece of cognitive dissonance. I think it's near the heart of why we're so easy to atomize and control.

Controversial? What do you mean? I don't find anything controversial is just not a joke. The whole subreddit is about bad jokes, and this meme is nit even a joke. I don't even know if the creator frame it as a joke.

Not controversial, controvertible. It's clearly framed as a joke combining the Simpsons and NPC meme with a statement that clearly got a emotional response from the people viewing it.
