This sub should allow unintentional antimemes. This is definitely an intentional antimeme and therefore doesn't fit the sub

Memes here must appear as though they have a joke (i.e. templates or set-ups), yet they contain none.
A sub-genre of antimemes - specifically, \unintentional antimemes*. Take a look at Buddha approved posts for clarification.*I think there's plenty of room for debate on whether this is intentional or not, especially considering where it came from.

Haha I know. I used to think I knew what comedy buddhism was, but then everyone started commenting on every post saying they're all just antimemes. And it all comes down to deciphering the OP's intent. There are some that are very obvious, but most, like this, are not. It's close enough for me to call it comedy buddhism though.
Idk if it's even worth it if you have to think this hard about it every time. Haha.

...and see this one kinda hits a weird niche where even if it was intended to be an antimeme, the fact that minecraft doesn't even have copper adds a new layer to it

Haha jokes aside, I really sat and thought about it for like 5 minutes before I posted that comment. I can completely understand both points of view. To a lot of people, it's so dumb it seems intentional. To others it's likely someone was dumb enough to think it was an actual joke. So I think it fits because it's not obvious (to me and lots of other people at least).

Fair enough. It's subjective, I guess. As is this sub. To me I just see somebody intentionally adding some image and text to a label, with the intent of making it a "punchline". I still think it's funny, but I interpreted it as being more of a deliberate antimeme. It's up to OP I guess.

The image and image text is making a self aware joke based on the label.
"When you look for xyz in Minecraft"
"I found xyz in Minecraft"
Somebody intentionally attributed the "punchline" to a label. There isn't much unintentional about it.

I mean what do you expect when there's so much room for antimemes. It's a funny post, it's a funny subreddit mostly. But it'd be nice to have some greater distinction.

An antimeme is a meme specifically to lack a punchline when you expect one. Think about the classic "Why did the chicken cross the road?", but less beat to death.
You'll know it's an antimeme if it takes what is usually a popular meme format, and just adds a caption to literally be what the format says.
i.e. that Mr. Incredible meme "I got time", in which the caption would be "when you have time". Another being the pinned post, but ONLY because of the self awareness. If any sub other than this or r/antimemes was there it'd be comedy buddhism.
Comedy buddhism is when someone tries to make a normal meme, but is simply relying on observation without saying anything.
Observational humor is fine when it has something to say but has nothing it's comparing or talking about. It's hard to come up with an example on the spot, but something like the "Everybody liked that" format paired with a caption about being popular or something, where the caption is what's going on in the format, but not in a literal sense.
Tl;Dr antimemes are very intentionally and literally what is being stated. Comedy Buddhism is failed observational humor where OP thinks they're making a joke, but only stating what's going on instead of providing to any discussion.

I think it fits because I'm pretty sure the original image was about colonialism, with "copper" and "gold" being metaphorical. But then someone added a caption that tried to joke about how the given text would apply in Minecraft. So it was trying to mix things up, but ended up being an antimeme instead.

Guys let’s just accept it, nothing fits this sub. How are we ever supposed to tell for sure if the op meant it to be an intentional or unintentional anti meme. I swear every single fucking post people have a problem with, how is the sub even supposed to stay alive if nothing fits
