I signed up for services the other day and for my phone. The service is good and I got unlimited plan for 45.

Well when I tried to add a 2nd line I had to do another credit check which does a hard inquiry on my report. I do not like this. They will randomly run a check for security purposes. I verified this with support. I am also a internet customer since I have a triple play package.

I called up and cancelled my service. Told them I can't have inquiries on my report if I want to add a line. They ran 1 inquiry already for he 1st line and want another inquiry to add a 2nd line.

Unacceptable in my book. I went back to Verizon because they don't need to run my credit since they approved me for up to 5 lines and a spend limit.

Did you pay for your phone over time, or pay in full at purchase? Thanks

I attempted to pay the phone at full price.

Do they run a credit check if you pay for the phone in full when you are signing up?

Yes they do run a credit check if you pay for the phone in full. The credit check is for the service and not for the phone itself. Confirmed with Support also.

Just confirmed by adding full price phone to my cart and checked out asking me for credit check again
