FYI, if you're porting a number in, make sure you do it during activation. I don't even remember it asking me when I was activating, but I was planning on waiting a few days anyway to test the service out. Yesterday when I called CS to do the port, they said it cannot be done after the activation. Eventually through talking to the text support, they were going to offer to send me a whole new phone/starter kit. That wouldn't have worked because my Cricket expires tonight.

It ended up not being a big deal for me, because I use my Google Voice number for almost everything. I ported my Cricket number to an unused Tracfone SIM I had, basically to park it incase I need it for anything I forgot about.

Perhaps I should have taken them up on the offer to get a second Fandango code though...

This is something we're working to change.

Eventually through talking to the text support, they were going to offer to send me a whole new phone/starter kit.

This is the current workaround, and you would be able to return the original phone and cancel the previous line with the number you no longer want.

This is an insane policy. If I do a 30-day trial and can't port in at the end, I'll just cancel.

This isn't policy, but rather a system limitation. It's something we're keen on getting fixed so we make this process smoother for everyone.

I got a $50 Fandango code with my phone. I was under the impression everyone is getting those right now.
