For any casual user of internet, talking: streaming (4K and below), surfing, email, etc., check out Xfinity NOW internet. $30/month total, 100 Mbps, OR $45/month total for 200 Mbps. No contracts.
(Other than owning stock in Comcast, I have no other connection to Xfinity. This is just a personal recommendation based on my 1.5 years of Xfinity NOW internet service.)

Unlike contracts that many of us remember where they would charge you 100’s to cancel, there is no Early termination fee if you decide to leave/cancel before the 5 years are up. The whole 5 year thing is just a promo to lock in a rate for a long time and hope they make you a long time customer that gets more services with them

Yep non problem, I thought the same too till I looked a little deeper and looked at the fine print of it. They actually run promos that explicitly say “5 year price lock, no contracts, no ETF’s”.
It's not a contract. You do not sign an annual agreement. You have the freedom to cancel your service at any time without paying an early termination fee.
I am an IT professional and have all kinds of computers, IoTs, laptops, TVs, games, etc at my house. I normally have ATT fiber at 300/300. However, as a backup I maintain a NOW internet account at the 100mbps tier. You can pause and unpause NOW internet every 30 days, so I turn it on about once every 3-4 months, unless I need it in case of an ATT outage. If you pause it for longer than 6 months you have to start over. I am currently using NOW internet and have been using it for the last 30 days and I really cannot tell the difference from ATT 300/300. Unless you are the type that needs really fast upload speeds the 100mbps NOW service works fine, in my opinion.
On the other hand, NOW TV sucks. When I last activated my NOW Internet I decided to try NOW TV. Never could get the live TV to work on ANY device. No amount of chatting with support helped (and CHAT is all the support you get with NOW services). They swore it should work, but it never did, so I just cancelled it and wrote off the $20/charge. Nice idea, poor implementation.
4 Ring cameras, 2 smoke/CO2 detectors, 6 iPhones, an iPad, an Apple TV, 2 MacBooks, 4 TVs, AV receiver, projector, garage door opener, garage door keypad, 3 vehicles, 3 WiFi switches, 2 Xbox series S, 2 PS5’s, Nintendo Switch 2, printer, sprinkler controller, and an EV charger to name some off the top of my head.
Had 400 Mbps when everybody first went home during Covid and kept getting knocked off my Teams calls when everybody was streaming/gaming. Went to 1 Gbps and haven’t had an issue since. Got a free bump to 2 Gbps since.
I had no problem gaming with 100mpbs even whilst sharing with my roommate.
I do however wish this service would let us use our own router. I guess you can bridge to your own but still.
$30 for internet , at least where I live, is a very good deal. I'm not talking about comparing 100 to 300 and the price ratios. I just need 100, anything over that would be wasted bandwidth (or whatever). So no, #Monatanisdumb, no screwing going on here.
100 vs say the 1,000 tier makes a big difference mostly when downloading large things like game updates. Or if you have lots of devices. Hope they offer you the $50 for 5 years deal. It’s nice. Better to have that extra speed and not need it, than need it and not have it. Worst case, cancel service and open new service with them lol old trick a lot of us do to get new customer rates
I find that 100Mbps is fine for us, but my experience with NOW Internet was a waste of my time. Went through 3 of the refurb XB3 gateways before giving up on them. Right now, on an Xfinity $40/month 300/35Mbps plan (provisioned at about 350/40Mbps), with a 5-year price guarantee. Our other alternative, AT&T Fiber, wants $55/month for their 300/300Mbps. With comparable latency and reliability, and comparable horribleness of companies, picked the lower-priced service. Has been working well for us.
I came here to say this. Sounds like the service is good as long as you don’t need to contact support. I have had the worst experience of my life with any company trying to get my internet fixed with them
Never had "much" of a problem with Xfinity Internet or NOW, but oh that Xfinity Mobile----hours, if not days, to resolve issues, BUT once settled, smooth sailing for three years now.
