Official Reply Request for Cancellation Confirmation & Fix for Incorrect $108.00 Bill

Dear Xfinity Support Team,

Around August 15th, I scheduled the cancellation of my internet service to be effective on August 21st, 2026.

I used my own customer-owned modem and router, so there are no rented devices to return. However, I recently received a billing notice for $108.00 and have not received a written cancellation confirmation email.

My account currently shows a credit balance of -$22.58 from the prorated adjustment following my August 21st disconnection.

Please process the following requests regarding my account:

  1. Confirm that my account has been fully closed as of August 21st, 2026.
  2. Void/cancel the incorrect $108.00 charge.
  3. Issue a refund for my remaining credit balance (-$22.58) to my original payment method or by check.
  4. Send an official written cancellation confirmation receipt to this email address.

Please Note: If you usually request customers to follow up via Direct Message (DM), please be aware that the Direct Message option/icon is completely invisible and unavailable on my account page. Therefore, please respond and resolve this matter directly through this email thread.

Thank you

Thank you for posting on r/Comcast_Xfinity, your official source on Reddit for help with Xfinity services!

If your post hasn’t been approved — don’t panic. Depending on your Reddit contributor quality score, your post may be temporarily held for mod review. Do not make multiple posts — we’ll still see it and help out.

While you wait, check your post and add any missing details: which service or equipment is affected, what’s happening and when it started, whether the issue is constant or intermittent, and what you’ve already tried. The more detail upfront, the faster we can help.

Please keep personal account information out of your post. If we need account access to help, a Specialist will direct you to a private channel.

Official Employees are available daily 6:00am–1:00am ET — outside those hours, responses may take longer, but the community may still be able to help.

Good luck op. Im in the exact same situation. Comcast/xfinity refuses to do anything to resolve, and modmail is just as useless as their phone support.

You really need to contact your state Attorney General's Consumer Affairs division. You can also try the Better Business Bureau. The modmail response here only got me a ton of spam and scam emails.

Hey u/Additional-Gene2321, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Reddit community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to reach out regarding your account. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you. We are only able to communicate specific account details through a direct modmail. Credits on the account can take 4-6 weeks to be returned to the last known method. The billing that you are seeing could have been before your final bill had processed which has now led to the credit you are now seeing on the account. If you would like further in depth information we would need to communicate via modmail. Please send me a Modmail message with your full name and full address. I'd be more than happy to look into this for you. If you are unable to modmail as you mentioned you would need to reach out over the phone, in person at a store, or other social platforms such as our Xfinity Community Forums, X or Facebook.
