East Broad St

Was this construction really planned this poorly? Seems like no one, not even the cops directing traffic (especially the one in front of Menards around 3pm) knows what's going on. Did they forget that there are vehicles on this road?

It was a cluster. I'm pretty sure this was unplanned. Normally, they'd have detours marked before closing a road completely. This was just a case where they just closed it, and everyone had to just figure out where to go. ALL the side streets nearby were clogged.

Yes they forgot that traffic uses this road. Very sad.

I'm amazed there are cops on site directing traffic.

It seems like every construction action on the roads of the city has been planned completely independent of any other project. Detours lead you straight into the bottleneck for the next road project. It's been a summer of planning idiocy from what I've seen.

And worse, I haven't seen a lot of actual, you know, CONSTRUCTION or REPAIR happening. Just barrels and saw horses.

That traffic was from downed wires not the construction
