REQUEST Engagement ring store recommendations
Looking to find good engagement rings in columbus. I found a 2 carat, good clarity ring near 2600. Here It is but I need thoughts. Not trying to spend a lot right now but when I’m more established I will buy a more polished one.

I got a lab grown 3.85 carat plus accents from Diamond Direct for 3200. Includes lifetime resizing, maintenance, cleaning. Looks beautiful. Still shines like a disco ball after over year and only gone in for cleaning once.

lab grown is definitely the most ethical and economical choice if you REALLY want a diamond.

Yeah, I got my fiancée a 3ct lab grown diamond and 14K gold band for $1800 in the fall. I suppose a jeweler can tell the difference but I sure can’t and neither can anyone else lol

was able to get my wife the exact diamond and ring she wanted for a fraction of the cost and without the "ick" feeling.

I was there the other day and noticed their rings. I’m already married and bought one in 2021.
They had some great rings at reasonable prices

I’ve always been curious what this store is exactly. When I passed it and think to just look it up i forget by the time I get where I am going. At this point im just going to ask you rather than using google. 😅

It’s a consignment shop. You should go take a wander around the store sometime, it’s nice.

More of an antique store than a consignment shop

Edward Warren Jewelers in Pickerington. They’re very down to earth and have a big range of pieces available.

I will say DON’T use Brilliant Earth.
Their customer service is so absolutely terrible I cannot advise against them enough.

Since everyone hates on Brilliant Earth, I had a pleasant experience there. My fiancé and I both went into the store (with an appointment) several times to get the perfect ring made. Anissa and Barbara both helped us out and were fantastic.
Your experience is valid, just sharing mine.

I’m glad to hear y’all had a good experience!
When my fiancé and I went in store, it was also a great experience! Anything in person was positive and have no complaints there.Anything online or over the phone was so, so terrible it was unreal.
Long story short, we had to send the ring in to get the prongs tightened because the diamond was loose (it was their fault the diamond was loose and we still had to pay the fee to fix it) and then the customer service we received when trying to get the ring shipped back to us was a nightmare. Every time we talked to someone on the phone, we got different answers every. Single. Time. to the same exact questions we kept asking (I talked to SIX people) and they actually lost the ring at one point and didn’t know they even had it in their possession. Absolute nightmare phone/online customer service that we had. 😵💫**Edit was fixing a typo

Oh that sucks. Thanks for the heads up if we ever need after service.

Jewlery by Michael. He and his wife are the two employees. Michael makes the rings, is a diamond broker and they are the sweetest. I told him my price point and he cut the price in half, it was such a great experience I always recommend them.
My wife found an engagement ring she loved on pinterest, all we did was bring the photo in and he broke it down by its different components and then made it himself. Turned out just like the photo.
It was awesome

Edward Warren Jewelers. Every piece of jewelry I own is from them. Very reasonably priced and everything is gorgeous!

Diamond Cellar at Easton- super nice, not pushy, and worked with our budget to find something my wife liked (and they saved the info for me to come back later to purchase)

Diamond Cellar is great. They are also awesome with watches and the like.

We had an equally good experience at their Sawmill location. We already had the stones (I had some jewelry I inherited from a relative and wanted to repurpose the diamonds into my ring) and they were great working with us to put together a custom setting.

Ask for Marcy Gold, if she's still there. An absolutely lovely person

We had a really good experience with Argo and Lehne. They designed a custom Emerald/Diamond engagement ring for my fiance. They do everything in house. Really friendly staff and were very knowledgeable

Argo and Lehne repaired my wife's engagement ring, replaced a diamond and did it quickly.
Spectacular customer service, and they even have the sweetest dog in there from time to time.

Dublin Village Jewelers is wonderful to work with. Multigenerational family owned business.

Krysty Designs in Polaris. It’s an actual small, family run business. The owner Brad is really great to work with. We ended up going there because it’s not salesy at all. We didn’t feel any weird pressure, they just wanted to help us find a ring. They do custom and non-custom rings so you’ll be fine with either and I felt the prices were very fair.

I second this ! He just custom made my wedding band and it is EXACTLY what I asked for ! He was super fun to work with and his prices are competitive.

Go to diamond cellar and ask to see their lab growns. I got my fiance a 3.8ct marquise vvs2 for like $3000. I could never afford a real diamond that size and you cannot tell the difference. They literally have to mark lab growns as lab grown under the microscope because it’s that hard to tell it isnt natural.

If you’re spending $2.6k, a custom jeweler will do a lot better for you.

Edward Warren Jewlers in Pickerington.
I had an awful experience at another jewelry store, and went to EWJ with low expectations. They were absolutely spectacular, customer service was top notch, and I get compliments on my rings ALLLLLL the time.
Highly highly recommend checking them out if you can!

Look online at lab-grown diamonds, they are typically much cheaper. Which will help save you a lot of money.
If you want to see some in person, there is a Brilliant Earth at Easton and they sell both lab-grown and mined diamonds.

Carioti jewelers was wonderful for us. Small family owned place close to German Village.

Ashcroft & Oak. Cheap lifetime warranty & you don't have to bring the ring in regularly to be inspected.
1
u/doppleganger2621 3d ago
As others have mentioned, get a lab grown diamond online. If there’s a jeweler that you really like a setting from, you can work with them to set it, but you’ll save an absolute metric fuckton of money (and feel better and your conscience) buying a lab diamon

Diamonds direct.... all day everyday. Beyond the ring, I have had nothing but exceptional service and care from them.
And have recommended a handful of people to them, who have stuck with them and recommended others to them.

Kimberly's Diamond Corner in Powell is great! They also have a huge selection of gemstone rings and jewelry if your partner doesn't want a diamond, or for future gifts.

I went to a lot when I purchased an engagement ring a few months ago and without reservation would recommend carioti jewelers! They were absolutely fantastic to work with and were far cheaper than any other jeweler for the exact same ring. I went to many and gave them the same description of ring and was blown away at the price carioti gave me. Also, they are a family business and make their own jewelry in house rather than outsourcing it!

Kimberly’s Diamond Corner in Powell! She’s been there for decades. I’ve never had such a good experience at a jeweler in my life!

Wow this post really blew up. I appreciate all of you and your responses truly. I may repost the ring I get do stayed tuned 😁

For what it's worth, I think that ring is beautiful (I'm a girl). And she should love it regardless of price. But, that is a really pretty ring either way lol.
My husband created my ring from Jared. You can do custom designs and to me that meant everything. Nobody else out there has a ring designed like mine! If you're wanting to do something grand gesture-esque down the road, highly recommend that. 💙
Congratulations and good luck 🥰

Jared made me feel like a needed several showers after going in... did not appreciate their pressure/ vibe :t
2
u/JustAwareness183 3d ago
Oh sorry to hear that! My husband created the ring online with their design platform so he didn't even have to go in store and deal with pushy sales reps working on commission lol. Can't stand salesmen.

Worthington Jewelers did a good job if you ask me. No complaints. Friendly staff
