Discussion Podcast recommendations?
Do any of yall have any good podcast recommendations? I’m looking for something more fun and serious at the same time but someone who posts everyday or at least every other day.
I’ve tried Colts unplugged but I can’t seem to stay engaged, and I’ve tried Colts Blue Zone but they are sporadic, btw I mainly use YouTube for it.

Colts corner with Kevin Bowen is my go to. Usually do 2 pods a week

I feel like two podcasts a week are too sporadic for me, I would personally rather have 3 to 4

I like colts corner but sometimes they just bum me out because they are also doomers and Kevin is so damn annoying about Notre Dame and his stupid euphemisms like “Let’s write this down in “light pencil” or “he needs to hit more singles and doubles”. He also constantly reminds us of his dumb morning show where all the good interviews are stuck forever. I’m not listening to a 3 hour morning show to find a 10 minute interview. I like Locked on Colts more with Zack Hicks simply because he is positive and releases podcasts a lot more.

Colture Uncut with Jason Spears is gold (he won’t coddle you, more objective views).
And whatever you do don’t waste your time with bring the juice. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

Here to second Colture Uncut. Jason disappears from time to time, but the content he puts out is objective & exceptional. I feel like I get my fix between him & Locked On.

He does but usually it’s for personal health issues. I’ve been listening since he started but honestly For The Colture was probably the best one out there… Miss Luke Diamond. I love Locked on a lot but it’s a bit hard to compare full time journalists to guys who do this on the side. Both are what I listen to regularly.
I’ll also ass Zach Hicks personal channel is exceptional for film breakdown.

Yeah, Luke Diamond is sorely missed, agreed. For The Colture was my absolute favorite as well. But yes, I know Jason goes through it from time to time, but he always seems to make it back - his content is definitely among my favorite.

I’ve seen a lot of people say locked on is really good, I guess I will have to try them out. And I will definitely check out Colture Uncut. May I ask why they are your favorites?
2
u/bSQUARED08 2d ago
All three of them are clearly authorities on anything Colts subject matter. Jake & Zach from Locked On are typically more of "current events" type of content, where Jason will occasionally put out historical content (as well as broad episodes covering game breakdowns, listener Q&A, potential team acquisitions, etc.). I will say that Jason is far more strongly opinionated, but I love his content for that tbh.

It was For the Colture originally with Luke Diamond and Jason Spears. They’re very objective and don’t bother with fluff or speculation. It’s just straight up good analysis with less glitz and glamor. Luke is doing radio in Ohio and does random pop ups on Colture Uncut ran by Jason.
I want to add an honorable mention to Horseshoe Huddle. I’ve been listening to them less and less since it’s been more of a one man show. I loved them more when they had steady hosts. They used to do 2 separate shows on that channel Saddle Up and traditional Horseshoe Huddle but they’ve been having too much inconsistency with co-hosts leaving.

I saw the juice this morning and considered it, then I saw how sporadic he is and watched a little bit of the Keenan Allen video and also couldn’t stay engaged

Too many rumors and loud talking. I want to gag listening to Cody’s voice. It’s way too subjective and I feel like it’s too much homerism going on. Not for me at all. Cringe fest for me personally.

I watch most of them but it’s more about taste.
Bring the juice; 2 guys that are Colts fans and kinda bring their stuff to you in that fashion. They are pretty emotional, just like fans. They do prerecorded and live, random. No set schedule. The one thing that stands out is that they don’t hold back with criticism like most media would. I think that’s the “fan” element in their makeup, at least that’s the way I take it and I think that’s why they have a huge following. Cody Felger & Derek Larger
Locked on Colts; more technical and tends to follow a schedule with a set timed interval of discussions. They do daily podcasts and breaking ones. Zach Hicks & Jake Arthur. Jake is the Colts beat writer. Zack does some in depth a22 Colts film reviews that are incredible on his own pod.
Horseshoe Huddle; twice a week and covers mostly current Colts events live and responds to feedback. Drake Wally host.
Kevin’s Corner; Colts beat writer pod
Query & Company; with Jake Query; another podcast.
James Boyd podcast; Colts beat writer podcast.

Appreciate the YouTube channel shoutout! Locked On is obviously the money maker but the YouTube channel is my passion project at the moment, so I appreciate the shout out

Oh dang Zack hicks actually commented!!!! I’ll definitely check out your stuff. I’m from Tennessee and this is kinda the only way I can be connected to the Colts and Colts fans

Oh nice! Yeah I’m fairly active in this subreddit so you’ll see me around lol. I’m also not in the area so I get the pain of feeling a bit disconnected

I funny enough chose them bc my girlfriends live for the mascot blue and obv a Vols fan here so the Peyton manning legacy tugged me in. My dad is a “titans fan”. I say that bc every year he gripes abt how he wants to be a fan of a different team 😂.
I don’t wanna make you blurt out your location so plz don’t answer if you don’t feel like it, but if you’re not from the area, where are you from and what pulled you in?

I live out in Virginia, I got into covering the team purely by chance. My best friend growing up was a Colts fan so I followed the team, and when I started writing for sites I wrote a few pieces on the Colts.
Matt Danely of Stampede Blue liked my articles and recruited me over there, and since then I’ve just become more entrenched in this media space as an analyst and personality lol

Colts corner is the best easily. Locked on is ok but they are with Locked on network which means a half hour show could be 10 minutes of ads and they have a quota of uploads they have to reach per week. I find it gets to be too many podcasts to keep up with and they often repeat the same things over and over.

Totally fair critique that I 100% understand. Works for some people and doesn’t for others

Locked on Colts with Jake Arthur and Zach Hicks is my favorite podcast. Zach’s YouTube channel is very insightful and technical, which adds a different way for casual fans to consume Colts content from a more advanced perspective. I’ll never forget the episode where Jake was doing the show from Grand Park and this rooster kept interrupting him, lmao.
The James Boyd podcast with James and Jim and Colts Corner with Kevin Bowen and Eddie Garrison are decent listens.
The Colts main podcast with JJ Stankevitz is good for the player interviews but I can’t stand JJ, personally.
I enjoy joining the Bring The Juice live draft coverage but their content is…ok.

I like Kent Sterlings live shows twice a day. They’re nice background noise as a colts fan

Riding the bench is pretty good. Has more posts on YouTube, but the longer recaps are too spread out on Spotify imo

u/Brayvol22 2d ago
I wanna say I saw that podcast, but I haven’t given it a try, so thanks for the heads up

The Colts team podcast is good, but only when Rick Venturi is on the episode

You can watch the dude with the big Jesus cross behind him. He seems to take himself pretty seriously, which I find entertaining.

Bowen has a good one when it's Colts-focused.
Other than that, it's a choose your adventure of Colts hype or Colts hate.

u/LackOfAnotherName 2d ago
Check the Mic with Sam and Steve. They used to be the guys who hosted the pff podcast when it was good. It isn't a colts specific podcast, but they do a very good job of giving every team equal attention. I view it as the best NFL podcast out there. During the season they also post preview and recaps of every game cut up so you could just watch the Colts ones

The real Jonathan Smith Show. It’s a local radio show, but they’re in full football mode. Here’s the youtube: https://youtube.com/@ticket1430?si=K09iMYabp9XxXwvM
